Isle of Wight punk band, The Pill, have been added to the line-up for the Isle of Wight Festival, which will take over Seaclose Park in less than a month’s time.

Performing on the River Stage at 4pm on Saturday, June 22, the band have had success with their debut single, Bale of Hay, which they described as a “noisy checklist about the realities of being blonde.”

BBC Radio 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq has played Bale of Hay on air multiple times whilst Radio X’s John Kennedy said: “Sounding fantastic, I think. Can’t wait to hear more from them.”

Of joining the Isle of Wight Festival line-up, The Pill said, on Instagram: “Omg omg omg we can’t believe that we will be playing on the River Stage on the Saturday at 4pm!

“Us pillies are over the moon.”

Throughout May, The Pill have performed at venues from London to Southampton and on May 26, will support Spanish indie-rock band, Hinds, in Brighton.

Previously announced to perform on the River Stage are 1980s hitmakers, Johnny Hates Jazz, Isle of Wight rock band Coach Party, and Angelina Mango, Italy's 2024 Eurovision entry.

Earlier this month, more acts including The Waeve, featuring Blur’s Graham Coxon, and YouTuber Noahfinnce, were added to the Big Top line-up.

Isle of Wight singer, Marnie Marie, won the Wight Noize competition and will open the main stage on Sunday, June 23.
