Three of London’s finest chefs specialising in Italian food, Theo Randall, Francesco Mazzei, and Jacob Kenedy, are to host a four-course dinner in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital next month.

Dubbed The Italian Job, the event will be hosted at Randall’s restaurant at the InterContinental hotel, where the trio will prepare dishes from across Italy.

Randall will begin proceedings with bruschetta and focaccia and an insalata di granchio, made with Devon crab, shaved fennel, radicchio, dandelion, and a Sicilian lemon mayonnaise.

Diners will then be taken to Calabria, home of Mazzei, who will cook brown butter tortelli with ‘nduja, burrata, broad beans and peas.

Bocca di Lupo chef-patron Jacob Kenedy will be in charge of the secondi, a Tuscan sharing dish of tagliata of British rare breed beef, white beans, potatoes, and cavolo nero.

For pudding, torta sacripantina, a traditional sponge cake from Genoa served with maraschino cherries and cream.

The evening is being put on to raise funds for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, with a grand auction to follow dinner. Prizes include a stay at the InterContinental, one of Park Lane’s best hotels.

The Italian Job will be held on May 22 from 6.30pm. Tickets are from £150 per head and include a wine pairing. All proceeds will go to charity.
