ITV chef James Martin forced to 'track down' guest after they go missing during Saturday Morning show
ITV's Saturday Morning with James Martin was thrown into disarray when guest Richard Corrigan disappeared mid-show, leaving the host scrambling to find him. Celebrity chef James Martin found himself in a spot of bother while whipping up culinary delights for his guest Gabrielle alongside fellow chefs Richard Corrigan and Nick Nairn.
However, as James, aged 54, prepared to welcome Richard Corrigan to the segment, he realised the chef was nowhere to be seen. James introduced the cooking segment by saying: "Welcome back... we've still got a Thai green curry coming for my guest Gabrielle," before revealing, "Richard has gone walkabout somewhere. We'll try and track him down later in the show. But I'm going to get a taste of the Highlands from a good mate of mine... Nick Nairn."
Following an ad break, the elusive Richard was located and returned to the set alongside Gabrielle. James greeted viewers with relief, stating: "Welcome back to the show - I've got all my guests back. Richard, Nick and Gabrielle," and they proceeded with the much-anticipated Thai Green curry preparation.

In a recent episode, James, who has two restaurants in the Cotswolds, had jokingly 'banned' Michelin-starred chef Glynn Purnell from his kitchen after a comical mishap occurred while they were cooking together. Amidst their culinary collaboration, both Glynn and James were puzzled over the whereabouts of a spoon they had been using, only for Glynn to eventually discover that it had inadvertently ended up in the sauce he was preparing, reports the Mirror.
He casually remarked: "I've lost a spoon in there chef but I'm sure we'll dig it out eventually," before realising another had slipped into the mix. "That one's gone in there again chef, want to grab that one out for me," he continued.
The kitchen erupted with laughter as James and Glynn couldn't contain their amusement, leading James to quip that he might not invite Glynn back on the show anytime soon. James humorously noted: "This is Glynn Purnell - this is the first and the last time you'll see him."
However, the mishaps were quickly put aside as they got back to the task at hand, with James praising the taste of Glynn's creation. The entertaining duo also received love from viewers on social media.
One viewer expressed: "Don't normally watch morning cookery shows but was drooling over the ribs with mussels @JamesMartin Saturday Kitchen served up by Glynn Purnell today! " Another shared: "Enjoyed watching @yummy_brummie on James Martin's Saturday Morning @jamesmartinchef The two of you were hilarious and informative in equal measure."
In other news, James recently updated fans about his health following his disclosure last year that he had been diagnosed with cancer on his face. During an appearance on ITV's Lorraine, when asked if he was doing well, he replied: "Yes, the stitches have fallen out, as you know, the last time you were on, I was in the middle of operations. As we speak, the stitches have fallen out of my body at the moment and that's all clear, onwards and upwards! " to which Lorraine responded: "I'm really pleased, it's great great news! ".
James Martin has two restaurants at The Lygon Arms in Broadway. Tavern, which aims for a pub vibe with a cosy atmosphere and an array of nibbles, and Grill, with its vaulted ceiling and range of dishes is for a more formal occasion.
