Ben Price has established himself as a fan favourite on Coronation Street.

The TV star arrived on the Cobbles as Nick Tilsley in 2009 and has gone on to be a part of some of the show's major storylines. Nick is currently embroiled in a dramatic love triangle with his long time partner Leanne Battersby and her sister, Toyah.

Leanne has been brainwashed by the Institute, which has brought Nick and Toyah closer together. In this week's episode, Toyah thought was told she was pregnant after she was rushed to hospital with stomach pains.

The character was convinced the child was Nick's, however, a twist on Friday's episode revealed the sad news that she wasn't pregnant and she may have ovarian cancer. Nick was emotional at the end of the programme as he was excited about the idea of becoming a dad once again.

Away from the screen, Ben's life is fortunately a lot more settled as he is happily married to fellow actor Alexandra Wheeler. The two met while working on the play, On The Razzle, and have since welcomed two children.

Ben has always been willing to put his family before his professional life and briefly quit Coronation Street in 2017 to spend more time with his family. The actor was emotional on an episode of This Morning at the time as he said: "I'm going to leave for my family. It's been amazing, I've loved the show. Amazing people, I've had extraordinary storylines and it could not have been any better.

"I live 200 miles away. I see my wife and children on a Saturday and I go back on a Sunday. It took me quite a while to think about. It's a big decision, but, in the end, it's my family and I miss them."

Ben's family live in Bath and he spent his time away being a stay at home dad to his children. However, he was able to make his return to return to the soap the following year after changes were made to his working schedule.

He said: "I now have a different way of working. I get a longer weekend - they make sure I can get home on a Friday.

"They crush my work into busy days rather than it elongating over time. And they are aware that I have to find that balance now. It's a really different working week and I couldn't be happier to be back."

Ben is enjoying his time on the show more than ever and enjoys close friendship with his co-stars and hosts the On the Sofa podcast with his co-stars, Colson Smith and Jack P Shepherd.

While he was in Manchester, Ben previously lived with Colson as the Craig Tinker actor revealed in 2022: "It's emotional for me, it's an end of an era. Me and Ben after three years and seven months of living with each other, it's come to an end. The dream is over.

"I lived with you Jack for a year, and then Ben for three and a bit years. I've literally had my university with you. Ben has gone into his new swanky flat, and I'm currently homeless, awaiting to move into my bachelor pad. My own house that I own, it's like a box tick moment."
