ITV Coronation Street's Alan Halsall shares 'unglamorous' recovery insight amid 'split'

Coronation Street's Alan Halsall has offered fans a glimpse into his less-than-glamorous journey to recovery following surgery.

The actor, known for his role as Tyrone Dobbs on the popular ITV soap, underwent an operation at the end of last year to repair an ACL injurya crucial ligament in the knee that connects the thighbone to the shinbone and is key to knee stability.

Alan took to Instagram to share updates with his followers, including a thumbs-up photo from his hospital bed. Back in November, just before his surgery, he posted: "ACL Reconstruction surgery [tick emoji]. Well, On Friday I underwent ACL reconstruction surgery. I have been told the surgery went really well. I know I have a long 9-12 months of rehabilitation ahead of me but I'm sure with the support of family and friends I'll get there."

Now, several months into his rehabilitation, Alan is back at it, as evidenced by a recent snapshot of a clinic sign he uploaded with the caption: "Back at it today! ! 1st session back... be gentle @scholarstherapies," reports the Manchester Evening News.

He also shared a video clip showing him working hard during a physiotherapy session, humorously commenting: "Be gentle I said..." followed by: "Rehab is not glamourous! ! " accompanied by a crying laughing emoji sticker of himself.

Alan Halsall, known for his role in Coronation Street, has hinted at being single again after a long-term relationship with former co-star Tisha Merry. The pair met on the set of the popular soap where Tisha played Steph Britton from 2013 to 2018.

They started dating shortly after she left the show. Last month, Alan shared a humorous post on Instagram, hinting at his single status and suggesting he might be exploring dating apps.

The 41-year-old actor posted a picture of a playful dog attempting to mount him, captioned with a face-in-hand emoji: "Apparently we're not best friends. Most action I've had in a while ffs fml."

He followed this up with another photo alongside the dog, jokingly suggesting it could be his "New Tinder profile picture", indicating a potential return to the dating scene.

Despite his recent romantic woes, Alan, who has portrayed the Weatherfield mechanic in Corrie for two decades, does have an important young lady in his life - his daughter Sianna-Rae, whom he shares with ex-wife and former Corrie and Hollyoaks star Lucy-Jo Hudson.

Earlier this month, Alan took to Instagram to share a photo of himself and Sianna-Rae during their recent adventures. The duo were pictured wearing oversized coats, standing on rocks and gazing out at the sea.

Captioning the post, Alan reassured his fans and followers: "Whenever you need me, this is where I'll be.... Right by your side! !"
