Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney has been showered with praise from her admirers as she showcased a striking transformation, a stark contrast to her familiar appearance on the iconic cobbles. The glamorous star opened up about her character Cassie Plummer during a chat on ITV's Lorraine.

Viewers of Corrie have been engrossed in Claire's portrayal of Evelyn Plummer's daughter since her dramatic entrance into Weatherfield last year, where she disclosed herself as Tyrone Dobbs' biological mother, leaving the local mechanic utterly stunned.

Cassie, who promised her newly discovered relatives that she would remain sober, managed to secure employment at the garage. However, her interference with Kevin and Abi Webster's lives led to her dismissal, even though she was later exonerated from creating the shocking deep fake pornographic videos of Abi.

More recently, Cassie has been embraced by the residents of No. 1, becoming Ken Barlow's caregiver after his unfortunate fall down the stairs which resulted in a fractured pelvis. She also seems to have charmed Steve McDonald, sparking a new comedic partnership.

Following her discussion about her experiences on the show and hinting at future developments while speaking with Lorraine Kelly, Claire took to Instagram to express her disbelief at how swiftly the past year has flown by since joining the celebrated soap, reports Manchester Evening News.

Accompanying images from her time on the ITV talk show, where she dazzled in a vibrant hot pink jumpsuit, Claire shared with her fans: "Always love chatting to @lorraine about @coronationstreet and my storyline with the brilliant @fat_dracula."

The 53-year-old expressed her disbelief at having been part of the show for a year, thanking Jill Halfpenny and Amelia Emin for their support, and crediting Me+Em and Sole Bliss for her outfit, with makeup by Francesca Jordan and hair by L Perriton.

Claire's fellow Corrie star Sally Carman-Duttine, who portrays Abi Webster, complimented her by saying, "You look lovely." Claire's fans also showered her with compliments. One person praised: "Looking fabulous Claire. Definitely got the look of love about you."

Another remarked: "You look fabulous as always loved the interview." Someone else enthused: "Claire you were fantastic and looked absolutely stunning." A fourth expressed: "Love you in corrie. Looking gorgeous as always."
