Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney shared exciting updates from her new mystery project.

The soap star has grabbed headlines this week as she went public with her romance with Ricky Hatton. Claire hit it off with the former Welterweight champion on the latest season of Dancing On Ice.

The two were spotted in pubs across the North West this weekend, which, according to Mirror Online, is said to be the latest in a series of dates since March this year. Claire regularly keeps fans updated with her life on Instagram and has taken to the social media platform to reveal she has enjoyed a busy day filming.

The Brookside star was spotted with the boxing legend visiting the Crown pub in Stockport - and staff said they were taken aback when the stars walked in. A bartender named Francesca told MEN: "I was serving at the bar and this woman came up to me to order a drink and I just did a double take.

"I said 'Oh, you’re Claire Sweeney from Brookside, aren’t you?', and she just laughed and said yes. I was a little bit starstruck because I used to be a huge Brookside fan, but then I saw the champ Ricky next to her and asked if I could shake his hand. It was just crazy."

Francesca praised the down to earth nature of the two stars and said they enjoyed their night in the pub without hassle. She said: "They were both really, really friendly. They ordered a vodka, lime and soda and a Peroni but nobody ever invaded their space. We asked if we could get a photo with them and they were more than happy to do so.”

The bartender was also keen to know how they came about the pub as she said: "I’d never seen them in there before and they said they just wanted to come in and visit after hearing good things about it. As I run social media for the pub, I give myself a bit of a pat on the back for that!”
