Here are the major scenes set to unfold next week....

Ella's secret 'exposed'.

Earlier this year, Emmerdale introduced new character Ella Forster, portrayed by actress Paula Lane. Ella made a dramatic entrance into the village when she doused her boss Jules with a drink, resigning from her job on the spot while defending Mandy Dingle at a vets social.

However, Ella's behaviour has raised suspicions among viewers, suggesting she may be hiding something.

After leaving her previous job, Ella quickly found a new position as a receptionist at the local doctor's surgery. It wasn't long before she began a romantic relationship with Dr Liam Cavanagh.

However, after one of their early dates, Ella abruptly pulled away from Liam after a kiss and hastily made her excuses to leave. Meanwhile, Ella's behaviour raised eyebrows when Liam found himself caught in a love triangle between Ella and Chas Dingle.

It seems that Ella has been hiding a significant secret, which is set to be revealed in the coming week. In future episodes, Ella becomes anxious when Liam suggests staying at her place, but she successfully diverts his proposal.

Later, on the outskirts of the village, viewers will see Ella settling down for the night in her car, revealing that she doesn't have a permanent home and has been deceiving those around her.

The following morning, Ella is discovered sleeping in her car by Manpreet Sharma during her morning jog. A mortified Ella pleads with Manpreet not to tell Liam about her situation.

However, in typical soap opera fashion, Manpreet accidentally lets slip to Liam that she found Ella sleeping in her car, leaving Ella absolutely livid.

After some discussion, Liam proposes that Ella temporarily moves into his spare room, an offer which a relieved Ella accepts. Later, Mandy assists Ella in moving her belongings into Liam's house and asks about Ella's family.

The situation takes a dramatic turn when Ella sees an old photograph in Mandy's possession and reacts angrily, leaving Mandy puzzled by the confrontation.

Later in the week, Ella and Liam are seen trying to navigate their relationship while living together. However, when Ella refuses to have her picture taken by a photographer and abruptly leaves, Liam is left confused.

In the beer garden, Mandy advises Liam to ensure that Ella has no hidden secrets before their relationship becomes more serious. Heeding Mandy's advice, Liam poses some probing questions to Ella, leaving her shaken and causing her to flee the house.

Later on, viewers see Ella visiting a care home... what secret is she keeping and who is in the care home?

Belle fights back.

Next week, Emmerdale is set to air distressing scenes as Belle Dingle retaliates against Tom King amidst their harrowing abuse storyline. The ITV soap is currently exploring a coercive control plot with these characters, showing Tom isolating and manipulating his partner Belle.

His abhorrent behaviour has escalated recently, with him surveilling Belle, and the latest episodes took an even more heart-wrenching turn as Tom became violent.

In the forthcoming scenes, Belle forces Tom to seek help for his behaviour, threatening to leave him unless he changes. However, this is all part of Tom's despicable scheme, as later in the week he tells a cruel lie to maintain his control over Belle.

During a medical consultation with Liam Cavanagh, Tom cunningly shifts the blame onto Belle, alleging that she is the one with issues. He spins a disturbing lie, suggesting that Belle has behavioural problems, anger issues, and is exercising manipulative control over him.

Meanwhile, in the village, Mandy and Lydia Dingle express concern for Belle, who hasn't been acting like herself and hasn't responded to their calls or messages.

Later, at dinner, Tom puts on a performance for the Dingles, while an oblivious Belle is pleased to hear that her husband's appointment with Liam went well. However, as the anniversary of Lisa Dingle's death approaches, Tom manipulates the situation so that Belle stays home waiting for a parcel for him, instead of joining Lydia and Sam for a memorial picnic for Lisa.

At work, Vanessa Woodfield and Rhona Goskirk gear up for Tom's performance review, but Tom becomes irate when he realises he's about to face some criticism, clearly not taking the review well. After discovering that Belle didn't wait in for his parcel, Tom's anger reaches boiling point as he blames Belle for ruining the day and makes cruel remarks about her mother.

Belle Dingle, after enduring months of Tom's despicable behaviour, finally loses her temper and pushes him over in the village, much to the shock of the onlooking residents. The question now is whether Belle's public outburst will further fuel Tom's narrative that she is the one with issues, and if this could be the catalyst for her to leave Tom for good.

In another storyline, Emmerdale is setting up a dramatic revenge plot next week, as one character, driven by murderous intent, deliberately runs over fellow villager Ethan Anderson in a hit and run, leaving him for dead. This appears to be retaliation for the recent accident that left Nicky Miligan fighting for his life.

Nicky's life continues to hang in the balance as he remains hospitalised following the crash. His friend Ethan, who was driving under the influence, pulled Nicky from the wreckage before fleeing the scene.

Nicky was discovered by his aunt Moira Dingle, who promptly called for help. He was rushed to hospital where he currently lies in a coma.

With his life at stake, his father Caleb, mother Ruby, and uncle Cain are seeking vengeance, particularly after Ethan's arrest in Monday's episode.

However, as Nicky's condition remains critical and doctors are yet to bring him out of his coma, his family are distraught. Seeing Ethan walking around unscathed while his son fights for his life has left Caleb seething with anger.

Soon, Cain, Caleb and Ruby are seething when they spot Ethan in the village, each of them eager to exact revenge for his cowardly actions and for what transpired with Nicky. It appears that one of them eventually takes that revenge, injuring Ethan in a hit-and-run incident.
