ITV Emmerdale's Laurel Thomas, portrayed by Charlotte Bellamy, is set to face further heartache in the upcoming episodes as her split from Jai Sharma, played by Chris Bisson, takes a bitter turn.

In the previous week, Laurel's patience was tested due to Jai's reluctance to be truthful with his sibling about why Amit, played by Anil Goutam, left the village. Their argument escalates and Jai crosses a line by cruelly insulting Laurel's late husband Ashley.

However, following their heated exchange, Laurel suffers a heart attack and is immediately taken to hospital. Upon regaining consciousness, she informs Suni Sharma, played by Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana, about Jai's ruthless plan to seize his shares of The HOP.

She also tells Jai that their marriage is over.

This week, Laurel becomes worried when she notices that Jai still seems unusually optimistic about their marriage and believes they will remain together, despite her decision, reports the Express.

Meanwhile, Gabby Thomas, Laurel's stepdaughter played by Rosie Bentham, is also displeased when Jai decides to stay at Mulberry Cottage for a bit longer.

Jai argues that he's making this decision for the sake of the children and wants to maintain a sense of normalcy while Laurel recovers from her heart attack - but her mind is already made up.

In the forthcoming episodes of Emmerdale, Jai's delusions persist as he remains hopeful that he can salvage his marriage and move past their separation.

However, Jai's mood quickly shifts when Laurel asserts that it's time to inform their children about their impending divorce and the end of their marriage.

The ex-couple proceed to deliver the unfortunate news to their children. Without delay, Laurel informs Jai that she wants him to relocate from Mulberry Cottage back to Holdgate Farm.

While Jai complies, he insists on taking his son Archie along with him. This forces Laurel into an emotional farewell with her stepson.

Will Laurel remain firm in her decision, or will the absence of Archie prove too difficult to endure?
