It's been over a decade since the ITV drama series Heartbeat first hit our screens.

Set in the 1960s, the show followed the lives of a group of police officers in a fictional town in North Riding of Yorkshire. Airing weekly, it proved to be a hit with viewers as it was watched regularly by its millions of fans.

But after 18 years, fans were distraught when it was cancelled back in 2010. Heartbeat is one of ITV's top-rated and much-loved dramas and even though no new episodes have been made for over a decade, fans still watch the repeats on ITV3. Filmed in the North York Moors National Park and the village of Goathland, Wales Online previously reported.
