Ruth Langsford was reportedly left 'devastated' after a message discovery between estranged husband Eamonn Holmes and another woman.

The couple were married for 14 years, but recently announced their shock separation. However, in a recent development it has been reported that TV presenter Ruth was left rocked by accusations that the split was due to Eamonn's health problems.

The Mirror reports it has been alleged Ruth found messages between Eamonn and another woman on a laptop. A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Ruth was completely taken by surprise when she saw the messages.

“She had no idea what had been going on between them. She was devastated. Not only was she very upset but she was also angry.”

Loose Women presenter Ruth has been taking time away from the ITV show to deal with the breakdown of her marriage, but has recently stated there's no going back for the couple. Meanwhile, Eamonn has already returned to work duties and has been presenting GB News.

It has also been reported that Ruth was left "hurt" when she found out her husband was being consoled by another woman who has been on a string of outings with Eamonn. The woman in her forties has reportedly struck up a friendship with the Irish presenter and it is thought they've been to a safari park, Manchester United game and Beyoncé gig together.

A friend of Ruth said: “Ruth was hurt when she learned about Eamonn’s friendship with another woman but she is strong and she will be back soon with a smile on her face, putting her best foot forward, as she always does. She needs a bit of time to regroup after everything that’s gone on, which is understandable, but she plans to return to Loose Women, with renewed vigour, in July.”

A spokesperson for Ruth has said: “Ruth had holiday time booked from Loose Women and has extended her leave. She’s looking forward to returning to the show in due course.” Days after the news of their split emerged, Eamonn told GB News viewers: "So here we are on this Tuesday morning and a lot of politics.

"Just before we move on I would just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated."

Ruth has shared updates on social media as she stays off Loose Women, and shared that she underwent a divorce makeover. A joint statement issued last month said simply: ”Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing." Eamonn has since moved out of their family home.

Mirror Online has reached out to Eamonn's reps for comment. Ruth's rep declined to comment.
