ITV This Morning fans want Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder to replace Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard

Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder are in hot demand to take over hosting This Morning, as regular audiences vent their frustrations about current hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.

Taking up the reins from stalwarts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield who bid adieu last year, Cat and Ben started their stint on This Morning in March. Yet, their on-screen chemistry is under scrutiny, with a section of audience deeming it subpar.

During Wednesday's episode, there was palpable excitement for Cat when she was showcasing Shirley Bassey's dazzling jewellery pieces. Donning few glittering items from the singer's lavish collection brought visible joy to Cat.

However, not every viewer mirrored Cat's delight. They stormed off to X (formerly known as Twitter), openly criticising her and categorically stating she "was the wrong person for the job", due to her persistent interjections and lacklustre connection with Ben.

In the words of one disgruntled viewer: "Cat was completely the wrong choice for this job. She's not settling in and getting worse," they went on to mention - "Talking over people, interrupting, zero empathy or rapport with guests. Ben is definitely getting increasingly frustrated with her. Epic fail. #ThisMorning", reports OK!.

Viewers of the show have voiced their discomfort with the recent adjustments. One watcher noted: "I feel such an uncomfortable tension between Ben and Cat. If I'm right it's a shame because neither will be enjoying their new job! #ThisMorning".

A second added: "Cat really needs to calm down and let other people talk #ThisMorning".

The rapport between Ben and Cat has taken some heat as well, with a viewer commenting: "Ben is definitely getting fed up with the Cat Deeley show, especially during the diamond and cookery items. He can't get a word in #thismorning".

As the audience continues to express their dissatisfaction, they're also putting forward their own suggestions for the potential successors. Rob and Rylan, currently serving host duties on Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour on BBC, are among the top picks.

A fan suggested: "I said before Rob Rinder and Rylan should present this they'd be great #ThisMorning."

The sentiment was echoed by others, with tweets like: "Rylan and Rob to present this morning #ThisMorning" and "Should get Rylan and Rob to present #thismorning."

Despite whispers of a budding romance between Rylan and Rob, Rylan recently set the record straight after Rob had mentioned that "friendship had turned to love".

Rylan also defended his mum, Linda, against unwelcomed attention from the media. The former X Factor star posted a plea on social media: "To the journalist that just doorstepped my mum at her house, as polite as you were, please don't. She said you were a lovely man but she's 71-years-old and it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. The answer is no. I'm not dating Rob Rinder; he's one of my closest friends. Next time tweet me. Thanks."
