This Morning's Ben Shephard was quick to admonish his co-presenter Cat Deeley during Wednesday's show.

The vivacious ITV duo were busy briefing viewers on this episode's agenda as they launched straight into the programme. They were set to interview actress Sherrie Hewson, when Cat stated: "She's best known for playing Corrie's Maureen Holdsworth but now Sherrie Hewson is making history in Hollyoaks as she becomes the show's oldest serial killer."

"She's going to kill me for saying this at 73, she'll be joining us live." A tickled Ben chided a blushing Cat who had just shared their guest's age, reports the Mirror.

Humerously chiding her back, he retorted: "Don't reveal the age of a serial killer! Are you mad?" Cat quipped back: "Why on earth did I do that?"

Their playful banter appeared light-hearted, following Shephard's prior jabs at Deeley throughout the week.

In another recent episode, Shephard couldn't resist taking fun digs at Cat's husband while discussing the recent crowning of the 'world's ugliest dog'. The dubbed unattractive pooch, Wild Than, is an eight year old Pekingese with lasting damage from a puppyhood virus infection.

Whereupon one of the shows guest panelists, Sonia Sodha, suggested that beauty was subjective, Cat agreed, adding, "I also quite like an underdog! I quite like a dog with literally three legs or-".

In a mischievous turn, Ben inquired if Cat was more inclined towards less impressive-looking dogs, to which she quickly concurred. In a jovial counter, he quipped: "That's why you married Paddy [Kielty]?"

The unexpected joke left their two guests noticeably taken aback as they managed an awkward laughter; Cat retorted: "Oh my goodness, you know he's poorly at the moment! So, he can't sort you out!"

Since taking over as ITV show presenters following Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's departure at the start of March, Cat and Ben have formed a lively on-screen chemistry, frequently seen engaging in playful banter throughout the broadcast.
