Taking to the pitch to play football with Usain Bolt and Robbie Williams is a far-cry from his hopes to be an accountant, but rapper Tion Wayne will do just that tonight.

Wayne, known for collaborating with rapping legends including Stormzy, is one of the players going onto the pitch to raise funds for UNICEF in tonight's Soccer Aid. The match will be available to watch on ITV from 7.30pm, with the channel's coverage starting at 6pm.

The rapper first made a name for himself in 2010 after he dropped a number of videos on YouTube. He released his first mixtape - Wayne's World - in 2014 and by 2016 he had gone on to support artists such as Rick Ross. He made his UK Singles Chart debut in 2019 with a feature on NSG's single "Options."

Wayne was born Dennis Junior Odunwo in North London and the 30-year-old has previously said he wanted to become an accountant.

Controversy

Wayne is no stranger to controversy - having been involved in a brawl involving more than 100 people outside a nightclub in Bristol in 2017. He had been DJing at the venue. He was jailed for 16 months.

In 2020, Wayne was involved in an altercation with rapper Headie One on a flight from Dubai to London. Rapper Morrisson tried to break the fight up.

Huge net worth

Wayne is said to have a net worth of around £3.9million. He has previously said he wants to go down as "one of the greats."

Soccer Aid kicks off at 7.30pm. ITV is airing its coverage from 6pm until 10pm.
