Following the conclusion of Vera on ITV, fans have been left yearning for their weekly fix of crime drama. Stepping in to fill the void is the Australian series Bay of Fires, which weaves dark humour into its crime narrative and is set to take over while Brenda Blethyn's iconic DCI Vera Stanhope is off-screen filming the final series.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Tasmania's west coast, Bay of Fires introduces viewers to Marta Dusseldorp, 51, who plays the lead role of Stella. In the show, Stella's life takes a turn when she ends up in a small community plagued by crime, deep-seated feuds, and occasionally murder.

As a single mother of two, Stella is forced to rely on a newcomer as she relocates her family to the isolated Mystery Bay, reports the Express. Marta Dusseldorp, who not only stars in but also produces the series, spoke exclusively with about Bay of Fires' debut on ITV after achieving "record-breaking" success in Australia.
