ITV's The Chase pulled for 'breaking news' announcement
ITV interrupted its usual schedule for a breaking news special.
The Chase was set to be broadcast in its usual spot at 5pm today. However, ITV pulled today's episode as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is expected to announce a snap general election.
Political correspondents Robert Peston and TOm Sheldrick were broadcasting live from Downing Street ahead of Mr Sunak's address to the nation. Reports suggest Mr Sunak could called a General Election for July 4.

The PM ordered Foreign Secretary David Cameron to cut short a trip to Albania for a Cabinet meeting. Defence Secretary Grant Shapps also delayed an international visit in order to be present.
The announcement comes as after it was confirmed inflation had fallen to 2.3% this morning. At today's PMQ's, Mr Sunak reguesed to confirm whether the UK will go to the polls this summer.
