ITV's Lorraine Kelly enlists 'help' before BAFTAs after wardrobe malfunction

ITV's Lorraine Kelly suffered a wardrobe malfunction before the glitzy BAFTA awards tonight and had to get some help from her daughter, Rosie Smith.

The 64-year-old presenter was seen wearing a stunning floor-length bridal gold gown that sat off her shoulders, and was buttoned all the way up the back. With a split thigh, the dress was paired with a gold handbag.

Hours before Lorraine was due to arrive at the awards bash, she suffered a wardrobe malfunction which her daughter Rosie Smith shared to her Instagram story. Lorraine was seen lying face down on the sofa as Rosie wrestled to do up the buttons.

The awkward moment was shared with the caption: "Nailed the button technique and even Ruby helped." The video was followed with a snap of the pair smiling in the back of the car on the way to the BAFTAs.

Lorraine is set to receive a special award for her oustanding contributon to the television industry. The year of 2024 marks four-decades of her unstoppable and impressive broadcasting career, known for her significant presence on daytime television.

The star found out on air and said: "What an honour to the recipient of the BAFTA Special Award.

"A huge thanks to everybody I’ve worked with on screen and behind the scenes over the years – the people who make Daytime TV are very special people.

"Now I have to go and look for a showstopping frock to wear to the Television Awards on 12th May!"
