Former Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg is said to be filming a Kardashian-style documentary series about his family life.

The politician, who recently lost his North East Somerset and Hanham seat to Labour's Dan Norris, is reportedly following in the footsteps of other politicians-turned-reality stars like Nigel Farage and Matt Hancock. Both Farage and Hancock stirred up mixed reactions when they appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! a year apart.

A source has claimed that the five-part documentary series will be marketed as 'the British version of the Kardashians'. The Discovery+ series, rumoured to be titled Meet The Moggs, will allegedly feature his wife Helena and their six children Sixtus, Peter, Mary, Thomas, Anselm and Alfred.

"Jacob and his family have been filming for the last couple of months but no one expected the General Election to be announced," an insider revealed, referring to the July 4 election. "It was gold for the show however and gave a real insight into what family is like for working MPs.", reports the Mirror.

Speaking to The Sun, the source added: "His son Peter is really keen to make a name for himself in TV so he has been front and centre."

They mentioned that the series will be 'warts and all' and that the crew were surprised by 'how much they love Jacob' and how much of a 'treat' he is to work with, despite his controversial views.

A steadfastly traditional Catholic, the politician vehemently opposes abortions, once famously asserting 'life begins and the point of conception'. His track record includes voting for the repeal of the Human Rights Act twice during his tenure as an MP and campaigning for the UK's exit from the EU in the seminal Brexit referendum of 2016.

He is regarded as a loyal ally of Boris Johnson, who promoted him to the position of leader of the House of Commons in 2019. When commenting on the subject of same-sex marriage, he revealed that he was 'not proud' of its legal status.

Rees-Mogg's media presence extends to GB News, where he has hosted a show - however, two episodes of this programme were found to be in violation of impartiality regulations by broadcasting watchdog, Ofcom.

The Eton-alumnus spoke openly to The Mirror about his fondness for a large family, stating: "We have as many as possible, but as Helena does all the hard work I think six will be it."

He also cheekily referred to parenting as being "jolly hard work" for the nanny". Moreover, the politician has expressed his ambitions for a child-count equalling a cricket team.
