Jacobi Jupe, Maria Dizzia, Ava Lalezarzadeh & Hope Davis Join Billy Crystal & Judith Light In ‘Before’ Apple TV+ Limited Series

EXCLUSIVE: Jacobi Jupe (Peter Pan and Wendy), Maria Dizzia (School Spirits), Ava Lalezarzadeh (The Pursuit) are set as series regulars and Emmy nominee Hope Davis (Succession) will recur in Before, Apple TV+’s upcoming limited series, starring and executive produced by Billy Crystal, from Paramount Television Studios.

They also join multi-Emmy and Tony winner Judith Light and Oscar nominee Rosie Perez in the 10-episode atmospheric, character-driven psychological thriller.

Written by Sarah Thorp, who also serves as showrunner, Before revolves around Eli (Crystal), a child psychiatrist who, after recently losing his wife Lynn (Light), encounters Noah (Jupe), a troubled foster child, who seems to have a haunting connection to Eli’s past.

Seductively enigmatic, Light’s Lynn is the love of Eli’s life, but her recent death may not be quite what it seems. As Eli digs deeper into the hidden life of the wife he thought he knew, he soon finds Lynn haunting him from beyond the grave.

Dizzia will play Barbara, Eli’s daughter.

Lalezarzadeh will portray Cleo, a street and booksmart colleague of Eli’s.

Davis will play Dr. Jane, a respected Chief of Pediatric Neurology.

Eric Roth, Adam Bernstein and Jet Wilkinson executive produce alongside Crystal and Thorp. Paramount Television Studios is the studio.

Jupe most recently starred alongside Jude Law as Michael in David Lowery’s live-action Peter Pan and Wendy for Disney +. He also appeared in Epix series Brittania. Jupe is repped by Grandview.

Dizzia most recently portrayed Sandra in Paramount+’s School Spirits. She previously had a major role in Orange is the New Black, and also has been seen in The Staircase, The First Lady, 13 Reasons Why, and Emergence. Upcomng she’ll be seen in the indie films My Old Ass & We Strangers as well as recurring on the Disney+ series, Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Dizzia is repped by Gersh and Perennial Entertainment.

Lalezarzadeh played Goli in the Pulitzer Prize-winning world premiere of English (Atlantic/Roundabout Co.). Her television credits include NBC’s New Amsterdam and Netflix’s Big Mouth. Lalezarzadeh is repped by A3 Artists Agency, Foundation Media Partners, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.

Davis, most recently seen on the multiple award-winning Succession in the recurring role of Sandi Furness, earned Emmy nominations for her co-starring role on HBO’s In Treatment and for her starring role in The Special Relationship. She also had a lead role opposite Bryan Cranston in Showtime’s Your Honor. On the film side, she was most recently appeared in Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City. Davis is repped by UTA and manager Perri Kipperman of Kipperman Management.
