Jake Paul vs Andre August LIVE!

Jake Paul is celebrating his first-ever win over a professional boxer. 'The Problem Child' sensationally backed up his prediction of an emphatic first-round knockout in Friday's main event in Orlando, perfectly teeing up a devastating right uppercut that sent Andre August helplessly crashing to the canvas a little over two-and-a-half minutes into the fight.

It was a superb shot from Paul, who had previously not secured a stoppage in any fight since 2021. He has now managed back-to-back wins since suffering a painful first career defeat by Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia earlier this year, having also easily outpointed UFC legend Nate Diaz over the summer. He looks set to announce his next opponent in the coming days as he continues to want challenges against pro boxers in a new phase of his fighting career.

On Friday night's undercard, Franchon Crews-Dezurn became the women's WBC super-middleweight world champion after outpointing the Paul-promoted Shadasia Green. There were also huge knockouts for Yoenis Tellez and Lorenzo Medina and early wins for Elijah Flores, Alexander Gueche and Zachary Randolph. Follow Jake Paul vs Andre August reaction live below!

Jake Paul delivered a brutal first-round knockout of Andre August in Orlando on Friday night.

'The Problem Child' made it back-to-backs wins as he continues his comeback from that high-profile first defeat by Tommy Fury earlier in 2023 and delivered his first-ever victory over a professional boxer at the second attempt, unleashing a devastating right uppercut that floored his overmatched opponent after just two-and-a-half minutes of the main event.

Jake Paul aims dig at KSI after August KO

05:14 , George Flood

In his post-fight press conference, Jake Paul says tonight was his best knockout yet as he also insists that he felt like his boxing career only properly began after he was beaten by Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia in February - explaining how he changed his mindset, attitude and processes.

He also can't resist a little dig at KSI when asked about a potential future fight between the pair....

KSI dominates IShowSpeed in charity sparring session

04:38 , George Flood

By the way, you'll be unsurprised to hear that it sounds like KSI dominated total boxing novice and fellow YouTuber IShowSpeed in tonight's charity London sparring session that actually started after the Jake Paul fight was already over.

Those two remain firmly on a collision course to meet in the future.

Just looking at some of the footage and it appears that KSI 'tapped out' as a gesture of goodwill after the courage shown by IShowSpeed, who was not happy with it in the slightest and wanted to continue.

It also seems that Speed rejected KSI's offer of a handshake afterwards.

Logan Paul reacts to savage uppercut

04:26 , George Flood

"An uppercut from the heavens" is how Logan Paul describes that highlight-reel winning shot from his younger brother tonight.

He says anyone still doubting his sibling is "stupid".

In the ring, he went as far as saying that Jake was the most impressive person in the entire sport of boxing today.

04:08 , George Flood

Paul said in his post-fight interview with Ariel Helwani on DAZN that he has a big announcement coming next week with regards to his next fight and that he can't let it slip early.

But he makes it clear that he wants to continue down the path of meeting professional boxers, so it looks like no more big paydays for over-the-hill MMA legends for now.

Let's hope his next opponent is a massive improvement on the hopelessly overmatched August.

August with a low-key opening ring walk.

Jake Paul, meanwhile, dances his way to the ring to the sound of Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, brother Logan close behind with his WWE United States championship.

This all feels very bizarre.

A rousing rendition of the US national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner", precedes the main event ring walks.

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is among those at ringside tonight, having embraced Paul earlier.

To say that Jake Paul currently looks nice and relaxed backstage would be putting it mildly.

He's currently all smiles on the shoulders of brother Logan in the dressing room.

Crews-Dezurn targets Savannah Marshall rematch

03:15 , George Flood

A great post-fight interview with Crews-Dezurn, who always speaks so well and is such a figure of inspiration.

She confirms that she wants the Savannah Marshall rematch next.

Franchon Crews-Dezurn beats Shadasia Green on points

03:10 , George Flood

98-92, 97-93, 97-93 - all in favour of Crews-Dezurn, who is in tears as she takes the vacant WBC super-middleweight title and also becomes interim WBO champion.

It certainly wasn't pretty, but deserved on the balance of the fight.

Now for the Savannah Marshall rematch next year.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

03:07 , George Flood

Round 10

A really disappointing co-main event draws to a low-key close.

Not sure Savannah Marshall will be particularly bothered watching that.

Did Crews-Dezurn do enough to claim the vacant WBC title?

We go to the scorecards...

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

03:05 , George Flood

Round 9

Green starts the ninth with her best shot of the night.

Her best round for a while as she ups the tempo and lets the punches fly with more frequency.

Crews-Dezurn's corner think she is smothering too much of her own work and would be cruising here if she'd just establish the jab better.

Hard to disagree, though I'd imagine she's still got a comfortable lead on the cards.

Though a lot of these rounds have been close, so who knows!

Into the 10th and final round we go...

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

03:02 , George Flood

Round 8

A closer eighth round, but you'd probably still give it to Crews-Dezurn... just.

Was expecting a real cracker in this co-main event and it really hasn't delivered through eight, unfortunately.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

03:00 , George Flood

Round 7

Effective again from Crews-Dezurn, working well on the inside and smothering once more.

She also unleashes a fierce right hand that cuts straight through the guard of Green, whose corner want her to up her work rate and let her hands go far more.

This opportunity is slipping away from Green very quickly and her unbeaten record is in serious jeopardy.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

02:55 , George Flood

Round 6

The best round of the night so far for Crews-Dezurn?

She lands some heavy shots on the inside, pieces together some decent combinations in an effective sixth and then manages again to largely smother the efforts from Green.

Green is just not doing enough.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

02:52 , George Flood

Round 5

This is a very underwhelming fight through the halfway stage, it must be said.

Crews-Dezurn firmly on top but it's far from entertaining.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

02:50 , George Flood

Round 4

This isn't vintage stuff from Crews-Dezurn by any means, but she's largely in control of a very muted contest through four.

Her jab is more effective and she's largely outlanding and outworking Green.

Not quite sure what the game plan is here for Green, but it needs to change.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

02:47 , George Flood

Round 3

This is a very tricky contest to score as the two-minute rounds continue to fly by in a blur.

Green drills to the body effectively, but Crews-Dezurn is judging the distance well and jabbing nicely.

She's still smothering a lot of Green's attempted work on the inside and landing far more punches.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

02:43 , George Flood

Round 2

More aggression and attacking intent from both women in the second.

Crews-Dezurn perhaps having the better of it, but it's another extremely close round.

Green having too much of her work smothered by the former undisputed world champion.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

02:40 , George Flood

Round 1

Not too much by way of action in a rather awkward first round, lots of tying up and untidy exchanges on the inside.

Neither landed much clean. All a bit sluggish out of the gate and the first two minutes flies by without anything of note to shout about.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

02:38 , George Flood

Here we go!

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

02:34 , George Flood

Green - who is undefeated at 13-0 with 11 knockouts - just ring-walked to The Undertaker's theme music.

Wasn't expecting that!

More of an elaborate entrance from 'The Heavy Hitting Diva' Crews-Dezurn.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

02:29 , George Flood

Really looking forward to this one, especially after the spicy build-up this week.

There is little love lost between these two and it should lead to fireworks inside the ring.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn

02:22 , George Flood

Crews-Dezurn lost her undisputed titles to Marshall on her last outing in Manchester back in July.

But now she gets the chance to compete for more gold after Marshall was officially made 'champion in recess' by the WBC back in September as she recovers from an injury that put paid to a scheduled defence against mandatory challenger Green.

'The Sweet Terminator' Green will now instead take on Crews-Dezurn, with the winner likely facing Marshall next year.

Shadasia Green vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn next

02:18 , George Flood

It's almost time for the co-main event of the night in Orlando!

Former women's undisputed super-middleweight world champion Franchon Crews-Dezurn fights the Jake Paul-promoted Shadasia Green for the vacant WBC title next.

Britain's Savannah Marshall will be keeping a very close eye on this one...

02:13 , George Flood

Absolutely brutal from Tellez to finally break the exhausted but determined Navarro's stubborn resistance.

Navarro left flat on his back for a couple of minutes it seemed but thankfully he's now back on his feet.

All credit to Navarro for a brave performance there, but Tellez was in control from the first bell and fully deserved that emphatic stoppage.

He moves to 7-0 with a sixth knockout and picks up the WBA Continental Americas super-welterweight title in the process.

Yoenis Tellez knocks out Livan Navarro in final round

02:08 , George Flood

Round 10

WOW!

A monster left hook from Tellez right at the start of the final round lands flush on the chin and knocks Navarro out cold!

What a shot. Incredible.

Yoenis Tellez vs Livan Navarro

02:07 , George Flood

Round 9

One of Navarro's problems here is that his rare attacks are exhausting sustained bursts that are not doing much damage to Tellez but tiring himself out badly.

Tellez ramps up the pressure at the end of the penultimate round, but Navarro demonstrates a solid chin once again.

Yoenis Tellez vs Livan Navarro

02:04 , George Flood

Round 8

Tellez lands a few more jolting right hands in the eighth, but still Navarro refuses to wilt.

He's looking exhausted and bruised and must be miles behind on the cards, but will not give in.

Tough, determined and durable.

Tellez will be learning heaps from this. No shame at all if he doesn't get the stoppage.

Yoenis Tellez vs Livan Navarro

01:58 , George Flood

Round 7

Navarro is hurt again midway through the seventh but again he comes firing back unperturbed!

Great action that is repeated again before the bell - Navarro again fighting fire with fire after being caught with a heavy shot.

You can't fault his chin and his heart.

Tellez in a comfortable lead but this is a decent test.

Yoenis Tellez vs Livan Navarro

01:55 , George Flood

Round 6

Some decent combinations from Tellez in the sixth.

He's punishing the body well, thundering in a particularly spiteful shot to the ribs.

Navarro's eyes are marked up as he continues to absorb some heavy punches.

But he's not done yet, reminding Tellez not to get too comfortable with a furious burst out of nowhere at the end of the round that catches his compatriot off guard.

Yoenis Tellez vs Livan Navarro

01:51 , George Flood

Round 5

All very controlled and patient from Tellez still through the halfway point of this Cuba vs Cuba showdown.

He's bossing the fight, but refuses to get reckless in search of a stoppage and instead works both body and head smartly in bursts while keeping the pressure on.

He continues to out land and out work Navarro with the much cleaner and more eye-catching shots.

Yoenis Tellez vs Livan Navarro

01:47 , George Flood

Round 4

Navarro is attempting to stay on the move early in the fourth, still trying to land some heavy shots but wary of being buzzed like that again.

Some solid close-round action, with Tellez staying patient and not being reckless in pursuit of the stoppage.

He knows that Navarro has the power to punish him if he gets careless here.

Yoenis Tellez vs Livan Navarro

01:41 , George Flood

Round 3

Navarro is throwing plenty to the body now and looping out some attempted uppercuts in a bid to keep Tellez at bay.

Navarro is down with 50 seconds left in the third!

He's hurt badly by a smart, sharp counter right to the chin and a driving follow-up shot and sinks to the canvas.

He rises to his feet but his legs look very unsteady.

But now Navarro fights fire with fire, trying to land some heavy shots of his own before being rocked by another huge right just before the bell!

Brilliant action and a decisive round from Tellez, who will be hunting the stoppage early in the fourth no doubt.

Navarro was badly hurt twice there and saved by the bell.

Yoenis Tellez vs Livan Navarro

01:37 , George Flood

Round 2

The quicker Tellez is walking down Navarro, who is firing well at times off the back foot.

But the pressure is telling and Tellez is able to let his hands fly from close range as the relentless stalking continues.

Tellez - sporting some scarring or marking over his left shoulder - comes on nice and strong in the latter stages of the second.

Definitely a Tellez round after an even first.

Yoenis Tellez vs Livan Navarro

01:33 , George Flood

Round 1

The first big punch of the fight comes from Tellez, who launches forward in those garish pink furry shorts and uncorks a furious right hand to momentarily buzz his compatriot.

Tellez is the aggressor forcing the pace, but he's caught and pushed back by a thudding short right from Navarro in the middle of the ring.

A competitive, close opening round that is difficult to score.

Yoenis Tellez vs Livan Navarro

01:28 , George Flood

Underway in this all-Cuban showdown in Orlando!

This has fight of the night potential, for sure

Yoenis Tellez vs Livan Navarro

01:25 , George Flood

To the super-welterweight division now as Yoenis Tellez and Livan Navarro go head to head over 10 rounds.

'Bandolero' Tellez is a 23-year-old 6-0 prospect - with five knockouts - from Cuba, who beat Sergio Garcia on the Spence Jr-Crawford undercard in Las Vegas back in July.

Navarro is also Cuban and the more experienced fighter at 32 with a 15-1 record.

'Machine Gun Kid's' only loss came against Justin DeLoach back in 2020. He has reeled off four consecutive wins since then.

01:15 , George Flood

A very lively post-fight interview from Ariel Helwani on DAZN with Medina, who moves to 9-0 as a pro with his eighth knockout.

Medina thanks Temple's wife, insisting that she had been sending him encouraging private messages on social media in the build-up to the fight.

He didn't rate his own performance too highly, but says that Temple "f*****g sucked" and didn't deserve to be in the ring with him.

Lorenzo Medina stops Joshua Temple in final round

01:12 , George Flood

Round 6

Medina steps on the gas and goes for the stoppage in the sixth and final round... and he gets it!

A crunching right hand immediately turns Temple's legs into jelly and he drives home his advantage before the referee rightly steps in.

A bizarre reaction from Temple, who either thinks the fight is still going on or that he's won as he dances around the ring.

He's now jumping up and down before being told to sit down.

Lorenzo Medina vs Joshua Temple

01:08 , George Flood

Round 5

Much more action in the fifth, Medina finally showing some sustained aggression but Temple attempting to fight fire with fire - leading to some furious close-range exchanges.

Definitely a Medina round though, with some quality punches landed including a vicious right straight down the pipe.

Temple went tumbling into the ropes early in the fifth, but again it was correctly ruled a push.

Lorenzo Medina vs Joshua Temple

01:02 , George Flood

Round 4

Medina is ratcheting up the tempo early in the fourth after a close third round, landing a couple of spiteful left hands to buzz Temple.

Temple drops to his knees, but that's no knockdown and is rightly ruled as a push down.

Lorenzo Medina vs Joshua Temple

00:57 , George Flood

Round 2

Medina is fired up by that shock knockdown, not losing any of his bravado and still chatting away to Temple as he comes forward and looks to pick his shots while utilising his greater hand speed.

Replays show that Temple did catch Medina with the right hand there - but that the fall came after he inadvertently stepped on his foot.

Very harsh to count that as a knockdown, but it'll still go down as a 10-8 round in favour of Temple.

Lorenzo Medina vs Joshua Temple

00:53 , George Flood

Round 2

Medina is down early in the second! Wow!

Temple's first real shot of the night, catching Medina nicely with a right hand that puts him on the canvas.

Medina looks embarrassed and is quickly back on his feet - he'd never previously been knocked down in eight professional contests.

Let's see how he recovers from here...

Lorenzo Medina vs Joshua Temple

00:51 , George Flood

Round 1

Medina sharper in the first, jolting Temple with a couple of crisp blows and already demonstrating his impressive hand speed.

A tentative start from Temple.

Lorenzo Medina vs Joshua Temple

00:49 , George Flood

Underway in the first fight on tonight's main card.

Medina looking confident already...

Lorenzo Medina vs Joshua Temple

00:43 , George Flood

A six-round heavyweight scrap is going to open tonight's three-fight main undercard in Orlando.

19-year-old Lorenzo 'Giant Killer' Medina will look to stay undefeated and move to 9-0 against fellow American Joshua Temple.

The experienced Temple is 31 and 12-2, but on a four-fight winning streak.

00:31 , George Flood

That does it for the early prelim bouts in Orlando!

The main undercard will be underway shortly at a sold-out Caribe Royale resort, which is beginning to fill up now with fight fans.

Elijah Flores beats Javier Mayoral

00:28 , George Flood

We go to the scorecards - 60-54, 59-55, 59-55.

All in favour of Flores of course, who moves to 7-0.

Another really encouraging display from the man from the Bronx.

Elijah Flores vs Javier Mayoral

00:26 , George Flood

Another decent round there from Flores that explodes into life in the final seconds with both men letting their hands go.

No shortage of effort and determination from Mayoral, but Flores was levels above his opponent all night.

He will be disappointed not to have got the stoppage, but a dominant display nonetheless from the talented 19-year-old welterweight prospect.

Elijah Flores vs Javier Mayoral

00:22 , George Flood

Mayoral eats two sizeable shots at the end of the penultimate round, including another lovely counter left hook.

Some really nice variety on display from Flores tonight.

Can he force the stoppage in the sixth?

Elijah Flores vs Javier Mayoral

00:16 , George Flood

More of the same in the third round from Flores, who is always on the front foot and measuring his attacks nicely to both head and body.

Can he now go up through the gears and put this fight to bed?

Mayoral is offering preciously little aside from the odd crisp counter that usually comes after he's been clobbered first.

The Mexican's corner are demanding more from their fighter.

Elijah Flores vs Javier Mayoral

00:10 , George Flood

Flores shakes it off and works the body well in the second, always walking down his opponent and forcing the pace.

He's picking out some well-timed right hands that are stinging Mayoral, who has had success with one or two left counters after being tagged hard upstairs.

Good variety with the right from Flores, who has landed it up close and looped it home from range.

Dominant work.

Elijah Flores vs Javier Mayoral

00:06 , George Flood

Flores in no mood to hang around, fighting aggressively from the outset, forcing the tempo and driving Mayoral onto the back foot.

He keeps the pressure up and throws plenty early on, though he's just caught with a smart counter shot before the bell at the end of the first.

Elijah Flores vs Javier Mayoral

00:00 , George Flood

Now we move into the welterweight division for a scheduled six-rounder between the 6-0 19-year-old from New York, Elijah Flores, and Javier Mayoral.

Mexico's 'Zurdo' Mayoral is 6-3-1 at 27.

Alexander Gueche stops Clayton Ward

Friday 15 December 2023 23:57 , George Flood

Emphatic from the impressive Gueche, who stops Ward in the third round to move to 3-0 with a third straight knockout.

Real speed, power, accuracy and poise from the 18-year-old, who looks an intriguing talent.

He detonated a shuddering overhand right there that landed flush and did the damage.

Gueche then had Ward in big trouble against the ropes, picking some huge spiteful shots with cool composure.

The referee rightly steps in to wave it off.

Tyron Woodley prediction

Friday 15 December 2023 23:52 , George Flood

A pre-fight prediction from a man who has previously battled Jake Paul twice, dropping a split decision first before being emphatically knocked out in the rematch.

Ex-UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is predicting a knockout in tonight's main event, but he won't say from who...

Alexander Gueche vs Clayton Ward

Friday 15 December 2023 23:47 , George Flood

The second bout of the night is off and running, with 2-0 teenage super-flyweight prospect Alexander Gueche taking on Clayton Ward in a four-rounder.

Ward is 28 but this is just his second fight, after securing a knockout on his debut over in Colombia.

Zachary Randolph beats Michael Manna in opener

Friday 15 December 2023 23:39 , George Flood

The early prelim action is already underway at the Caribe Royale Orlando!

Zachary Randolph has opened the night by earning a majority decision win over 'The Pittsburgh Bull' Michael Manna.

Andre August refuses war of words with Jake Paul

Friday 15 December 2023 23:28 , George Flood

Andre August has just refused to rise to the bait from Jake Paul this week - something that hasn't really helped to sell this fight.

The 35-year-old has brushed off the digs at his abilities and remained grateful for the huge chance afforded to him by his opponent.

"That’s not me," he said at Thursday's final press conference.

"I don’t do all that talking like that. I mean, hey, I appreciate you for having me here, man.

"I appreciate it at the same time. But I just ain’t got time for all that talking like that.

"I mean, he have to do what he have to do because this is his thing.

"You know what I’m saying? It is what it is. Let’s get it on.”

Jake Paul: I doubt Andre August will even land a punch!

Friday 15 December 2023 23:14 , George Flood

Expanding on that desire for an overdue knockout, Jake Paul added: “I’m going to pick him apart and show the world I’m the better boxer at the end of the day. And look for that knockout.

"It’s been too long without a knockout, so I’m going to try to deliver that for the fans at home.’’

He admitted that he had not been able to watch too much of Andre August, but still confidently predicted that the Houston fighter would not be able to lay a glove on him.

“Look, there’s not, you know, tons and tons of footage,” Paul said.

“But we’re gonna see, you know, me outbox him. He can’t move like me, he’s not as sharp as me. Skilful, picking him apart.

"And I doubt he’s even gonna land a punch. So, that’s really what it is. Sloppy feet, all that for him.

"So, I’m gonna just dust him up real quick and you’re gonna see who the better boxer is.”

Jake Paul aiming for 'highlight-reel' knockout

Friday 15 December 2023 23:06 , George Flood

Despite Andre August not being a big talker, things have got a little spicy at times this week and emotions were running high in the final press conference and at yesterday's weigh-in.

And Jake Paul left the assembled media in no doubt as to his main target in Orlando tonight as he seeks a first stoppage win since his huge knockout in the Tyron Woodley rematch in December 2021.

“A knockout,” Paul said. “You know, add him to the highlight reel. End of story.

"You know, just like all these guys talk. I been in the ring with UFC champions, real killers.

"This guy is actually nothing. You’ll see. Watch. 48 hours, it’s going down. Tune in. Have fun. Here we go."

KSI sparring IShowSpeed at same time as Paul vs August

Friday 15 December 2023 22:57 , George Flood

Jake Paul's nemesis KSI is hoping to steal some of the spotlight away from his arch-rival tonight.

He is set to hold an open sparring session against fellow YouTube star and boxing novice IShowSpeed in London at around 4am GMT on Saturday morning, to coincide with the main event in Orlando.

The event will be streamed exclusively live on IShowSpeed's YouTube channel and the proceeds will go to the Anthony Walker Foundation.

"It'll be good. There will be a lot of people watching," KSI said.

"I know there will be more people watching our spar than Jake's fight. Speed is a random guy, he just does wants he wants.

"You don't know what to expect with him, if he wants to get in the ring then he can.

"It would be sick to have Speed fighting, it's all on him.

"I mean, it's a boxing match so you can only punch. I've seen his speed and I know he is fast."

August vows to 'send Paul back to YouTube for good'

Friday 15 December 2023 22:49 , George Flood

Even the most hardcore, knowledgeable boxing fan can be forgiven for being totally unfamiliar with Andre August.

A real unknown when the bout was first announced, he has kept a mostly low-profile throughout the build-up with the spotlight absolutely dominated as usual by his famous opponent.

But August has still vowed to show the world his skills tonight and spring a huge upset to put his name on the map and send Jake Paul "back to YouTube for good".

“I don't talk very much, I’m all about that action," August said.

"Jake Paul has the money, the fame, the team and the resources but he doesn’t have my hunger.

"When that bell rings, I am going to go straight to Jake Paul and ring his bell and send him back to YouTube for good.

"In the state of Texas, [getting my name out there has] been a breeze.

"But across the world, this right here has brought all the attention. So, it’s very important for me to take this fight and show my skills and my abilities to [show] what I can do."

Who is Andre August?

Friday 15 December 2023 22:38 , George Flood

Andre August is an American cruiserweight, making him only the second professional boxer, after Tommy Fury, that Jake Paul has ever fought.

The 35-year-old has a 10-1-1 record, with the most recent of those victories coming in August when he beat Brandon Martin on points, and he has won his last five bouts.

That fight with Martin was his first for nearly four years, and it is only in his last two fights that August has fought opponents with winning records.

August was stopped by Eric Abraham five years ago, with the other fight he failed to win coming in 2014 when his bout with debutant Rudy Lozano was scored a draw.

Jake Paul vs Andre August prediction

Friday 15 December 2023 22:32 , George Flood

It is scheduled to be an eight-round contest tonight, and it would be no surprise if all 24 minutes are required.

Jake Paul's bouts against Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz both went to the cards and he is not one to take significant risks in the ring, particularly when facing those stepping into boxing for the first time.

Andre August is at least experienced in the sport and should be able to be more competitive than some of Paul's previous opponents, but there is little on his resume to suggest that he poses a significant threat.

His last four bouts have gone the distance, despite the limited opposition. He has only twice fought against opponents with winning records.

Paul has repeatedly insisted in the build-up to this fight that he has little interest in promoting it, instead suggesting he is just using the event to build his experience, and it all points to a relatively low-key affair.

As seen against Tommy Fury, Paul will have problems when he faces bigger tests, but he should have enough to end 2023 on a winning note.

Paul to win, via unanimous decision

The Jake Paul show returns at Orlando's Caribe Royale Resort tonight as the YouTuber-turned-boxer meets Andre August in a potentially key early step on his fighting journey.

'The Problem Child' is desperate to prove to the naysayers that he can mix it with the professional pugilists following that high-profile loss to arch-rival Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia earlier in 2023.

Paul responded to his painful first defeat by going back to his tried and trusted method of brushing aside celebrated but aged MMA veterans, comfortably outpointing UFC icon Nate Diaz in an eight-rounder in Dallas over the summer to follow similar crossover wins over the likes of Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley (twice) and Ben Askren, plus former NBA star Nate Robinson and fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib.

But now he's set his sights on a statement first victory over a pro boxer as he looks to prove himself worthy of making a legitimate impact in the sport and trying to eventually even go on and compete for a world title, handpicking little-known Houston cruiserweight Andre August as the ideal opponent for another eight-rounder.

August has had only 12 pro bouts by the age of 35, going 10-1-1 with five knockouts and putting together a five-fight winning streak. However, he has fought just once in the last four years - outpointing Brandon Martin in Saint Louis in the summer.

This event may lack some of the usual glitz and hype of a usual Jake Paul fight night, but it could be far more important in terms of his lofty ambitions in the sport.

Stay tuned for live updates throughout the night!
