Jameela Jamil has urgently called for fans to send her funny videos as she grapples with a 'horrendous' health issue.

The 38-year-old former presenter, now an actress, is no stranger to sudden and severe health scares, and she's disclosed that she's currently bedridden, battling a painful ailment. She's opened up about her recent distressing medical ordeal, which involved emergency surgery, a bone graft, the threat of infection, and an unforeseen complication.

Jameela, known for her candidness, took to social media to share her struggle with gastritis. This agonising condition can be triggered by a bacterial infection in the stomach or digestive tract, or by the use of anti-inflammatory pain medication.

Symptoms of gastritis, which inflames the stomach lining, include abdominal pain, nausea, gas, feelings of fullness or bloating, and it can affect one's appetite. Jameela revealed that her bout with the illness came after undergoing surgery.

In a distressed Instagram post on Friday, she exclaimed: "Guess who had a lil emergency operation and a bone graft and took antibiotics and pain killers and woke up with gastritis?!", reports the Mirror.

She continued: "Please send me funny animal videos at this horrendous time. Fork everything."

It remains to be seen if her request for humorous pet content has been met by her followers.

However, her latest tirade may not win her any sympathy as some supporters have levelled accusations at Jameela of having Munchausen syndrome - a claim she has strongly refuted. The allegations surfaced in 2020 when a fan suggested the celebrity might be afflicted with the psychological condition, which involves feigning illness for attention.

Journalist Tracie Egan Morrissey was the one who cast doubt on Jameela's health claims, taking to social media to compile a list of ailments the star had reportedly experienced. Morrissey constructed a timeline based on Jameela's interviews and public statements regarding her health, pointing out several discrepancies and contradictions.

Suspicions were particularly piqued by Jameela's story of darting into traffic as a teen to dodge a bee, allegedly resulting in 'spinal injuries' and a lengthy recovery period. The duration of Jameela's claimed recuperation has varied in her accounts, ranging from one to two years.

Further skepticism arose when she recounted another incident as an adult involving bees, where she supposedly ran into the road and was hit by a decelerating car, yet emerged without harm and recuperated in a juice bar. Doubts also surfaced due to Jameela's inconsistent claims about a peanut allergy while being spotted enjoying peanut butter treats.

Tracie's earlier assumptions about her research created shockwaves, when she stated: "I was sort of using Munchausen colloquially as a term for someone who just lies about illnesses or is maybe a hypochondriac, and I probably misspoke about that. I don't really know if that's the case."

In response to these claims, Jameela took to social media to say: "I'm now being accused of munchausens? ... By an unhinged idiot who didn't even realise in all her 'research' that my car accident injury stories are 'different' because they were about TWO SEPARATE CAR ACCIDENTS 13 years apart? You can keep it."

It is understood that Tracie also made public screenshots which seemed to show Jameela sending her repeated messages over a seven hour span after her own investigation gained publicity.
