James Acaster, Harry Hill, Alan Davies coming to Wells Comedy Festival

Preparations are well underway for the Wells Comedy Festival, with the event nearly sold out. The three-day event is set to return on Friday, May 24 until Sunday, May 26, with more than 30 shows scheduled across three venues.

Acts appearing during the Wells Comedy Festival include James Acaster, Harry Hill, Alan Davies, Nish Kumar, Lou Sanders, Tim Key and many more. Tickets are selling quickly, with many shows - including Harry Hill, Rich Hall, Nish Kumar, Alan Davies and Flo & Joan - already sold out. Lou Sanders, Tim Key, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, John Kearns and Kemah Bob now also have limited availability.

Comedians also on the festival line-up are Nick Helm (Uncle, Live at the Apollo), Desiree Burch (Live at the Apollo, QI), Amy Gledhill (Hypothetical, The Jonathan Ross Show), Ian Smith (The News Quiz, The Now Show), Michael Odewale (Live at the Apollo, Mock The Week), Alison Spittle (The Guilty Feminist podcast) and Pat Cahill (8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Now Show).

Punters will be able to enjoy coffee and hot drinks in Copper Coffee or grab some local beers from Wookey Ale, Sheppy’s Cider and soft drinks at the official Festival Bar. Little Blue Pizza, based in Bath, will be offering wood-fired pizzas to hungry comedy fans.

Ben Williams, Founder of the Wells Comedy Festival, said: 'We couldn’t be more excited to be bringing some of our favourite comics to Somerset. We’ve got so many fantastic acts bringing tour shows or working up new shows, as well as some really exciting new comics that we can’t wait to champion.’

You can buy tickets online through their website. Many of the bigger acts have sold out but you can still join the waiting list in case tickets enter resale.
