James Argent says one more drink could kill him after 'very bad relapse'
James Argent has admitted that one more drink could kill him following a 'bad relapse' several weeks ago.
Argent had been sober for over two years before an ambulance rushed to his home in Essex earlier in February.
Talking to The Sun about what happened, Argent said: “I had a very bad relapse after having some cravings for a while, but instead of ringing my therapist I had a drink for the first time in two years."
The former The Only Way is Essex star added: “Addicts always say one drink is never enough — if it was, I wouldn’t be an addict — but unfortunately it just escalated from there."

Argent also revealed that the tipping point came during a recent night out with friends. He said he bought a round of drinks at an afterparty, and gave in to temptation.
The reality star also said: “After that, I can’t get into the specifics of what I did, but that’s where it all started and I ended up at home having an awful relapse."
"As I’m an addict so it’ll never be just one or two drinks — that will lead me to hospital or death."
Argent admitted that his cravings for alcohol and drugs had increased since undergoing gastric band surgery as he could no longer eat like he had done before.
Argent also admitted that he was on the road to recovery since his relapse, saying that he was still suffering the effects of falling off the wagon.
The reality star had previously overdosed in 2019.
