James Corden's bromance with Harry Styles made it all the way to the White House for The Late Late Show when the chat show host visited US president Joe Biden.

Corden's US chat show is airing from London this week for the first time since 2019 and his A-list line-up of guests includes Joe Biden, who features in a sketch where the Gavin & Stacey star joined him in the White House as his new assistant.

The sketch shows Corden bringing an unimpressed Biden a fruit basket gift made of fruit kebabs fashioned like a bunch of flowers, before offering to "spruce up the place" and carefully positioning a framed photo of himself with Styles in front of a bust of Harry Truman.

Biden tells him: "You covered up Harry Truman."

Corden answers: "Well, I covered one Harry with another Harry, that's what I'm saying, I just think it brightens the place up."

Styles fans were delighted to see their idol gracing the President's office.

One person tweeted: "I would never have thought i would have seen the president looking at a pic of Harry Styles but here we are."

Someone else added: "James Corden literally represents the fandom, he get the opportunity to visit the White House, and all he does is get the president fruits and a framed photo of him and Harry Styles."

It wasn't the only mention Corden's good mate Styles got during the show, as viewers were left intrigued by a series of secret texts between the stars that Corden refused to divulge.

Playing the game Spill The Tea with studio guest Billie Eilish, in which Corden had to either answer her questions or drink a disgusting blended concoction, he chose to protect Styles' privacy.

Singer Eilish asked to read the last three texts he'd exchanged with Styles to avoid having to drink a mixture of ice cream, onions and olives.

Eilish said: "But Harry is so sweet though that I feel like he's just going to be like 'love you mate, miss hugging you'."

However, it seemed the messages were a little more controversial than that as Corden scrolled through them grimacing.

He said: "The last three...no...no...no...can't.

"I wouldn't do it to him and I wouldn't do it to you. Cheers Billie!"

One viewer tweeted: "I'm extremely curious to know what he said."

Corden's shows airing from London also include guests Vin Diesel, Ed Sheeran and Jamie Dornan, and a Carpool Karaoke with Lizzo.

The Late Late Show with James Corden in London airs on Sky Comedy 10pm this week.
