James Martin says one guest will 'never' return to ITV Saturday Morning after blunder

James joked that Glynn isn't allowed back on the show

James Martin has declared that a certain guest is barred from future appearances on his ITV show Saturday Morning. The popular chef, who presents the cookery programme where he rustles up dishes with fellow culinary experts and chats with celebrity guests, hinted at a no-return policy for one individual following a mishap.

During the episode aired on Saturday 27 April, James was joined by chefs Kenny Atkinson, Asma Khan, and Glynn Purnell, as well as Loose Women star Linda Robson, who was there to sample the delectable offerings.

However, Glynn Purnell, affectionately dubbed the Yummy Brummie, might find himself off the guest list after a series of on-air gaffes. While preparing a surf and turf plate featuring mussels and short rib beef, Glynn encountered a spoon dilemma.

In the midst of cooking the mouth-watering meal, both he and James were puzzled by the disappearance of their tasting spoons. It soon became apparent that one had tumbled into the sauce Glynn was preparing.

"I've lost a spoon in there chef but I'm sure we'll dig it out eventually," Glynn remarked, only to discover another spoon had also taken a dive into his creation. "That one's gone in there again chef, want to grab that one out for me," he requested, reports the Mirror.

James Martin shared a jesting remark about his fellow chef, Glynn Purnell on the show, stating: "This is Glynn Purnell - this is the first and the last time you'll see him."

Despite the initial ribbing, it was clear James was in high spirits as they continued with their cookery section and he praised Glynn's luscious dish. The TV duo's comedy chemistry had fans praising them on social media.

One viewer tweeted: "Don't normally watch morning cookery shows but was drooling over the ribs with mussels @JamesMartin Saturday Kitchen served up by GlynnPurnell today! " Another fan chimed in: "Enjoyed watching @yummy_brummie on James Martin's Saturday Morning @jamesmartinchef The two of you were hilarious and informative in equal measure."

Meanwhile, James has recently given an update about his health situation which he revealed last year, being diagnosed with facial cancer. During his appearance on ITV's Lorraine, when asked if he was getting better, he replied: "Yes, the stitches have fallen out, as you know, the last time you were on, I was in the middle of operations. As we speak, the stitches have fallen out of my body at the moment and that's all clear, onwards and upwards! " which was greeted with positive sentiment by Lorraine: "I'm really pleased, it's great great news! ".
