Janey Godley shares 'petrifying' cancer update with fans amid incurable illness

Janey Godley has shared an update on her health with fans on social media, saying that living with cancer in her body is "petrifying".

The Glasgow-born comedian, 63, is battling stage three ovarian cancer and undergoing treatment at the Beatson for the incurable disease. She regularly keeps fans updated on where she is at with her cancer scans which she has every three months.

In her latest health update, Janey took to X, formerly known as Twitter, sharing a video clip from a feature documentary about her life.

Alongside sharing the video, in which she talks about being "cancelled" and her illness, the star said that her cancer number is high - meaning that it is lurking around "somewhere in my body".

She wrote: "Knowing that my scan is clear but my cancer number is up high, means that the cancer is active “somewhere” in my body and we have to wait until it shows itself.

"The mental ramifications of that is petrifying but I am living each day as best I can."

Fans were quick to comment with messages of support for the comedian.

One wrote: "You are amazing. Keep doing what makes you happy and doing it unapologetically."
