Jason Kelce on Which Part of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Made Him Emotional

Jason Kelce got emotional while watching a performance during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.

In a new episode of his and his brother Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights With Jason and Travis Kelce, the retired Philadelphia Eagles center reflected on watching Swift perform in London and how one moment in the show actually made him tear up.

“The 22 hat? Dude, I’ve never cried at a fucking concert, and I was literally tearing up watching this little girl’s entire … I’m about to tear up right now. It was fucking so special.”

While performing her song “22,” Swift famously gives her coveted fedora hat to a member of the crowd and embraces them with a hug.

“She got into it, man. It was awesome,” added Travis, who is dating Swift. “Every single show she does it. And she makes every show unique with the acoustic set.”

Jason called the acoustic portion of the show his “favorite part.” “It’s just her, a guitar and 90,000 people,” Jason said. “And she’s blending from one song to another … To be good in front of 90,000 people with just that, I think you have to be amazing. And you have to, one, have great songs and great lyrics, which she obviously has written and made. And then two, be able to perform those seamlessly on the spot, nothing else to hide it, just that was the highlight of the evening for me.”

“It feels like you’re in a bar just listening to somebody play on a piano,” he added.

“It was an awesome experience. The Swifties make it very memorable,” Jason also said.

Jason and his wife, Kylie, attended the first two of Swift’s three nights at Wembley Stadium. It was during night three that Swift and Travis surprised everyone when he made an appearance during a performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” Kelce did not discuss the performance on this week’s podcast episode.

Afterward, Swift took to Instagram to reflect on the show, writing, “Wembley Stadium round one was so surreal. Looking out into crowds of 90,000 fans each night and hearing that VOLUME … Those were some of the loudest crowds I’ve ever heard. Acoustic sections went OFF. I got to sing ‘Castles Crumbling’ with @yelyahwilliams for the first time — hadn’t performed with her since 2011 and man my heart was just so full of love for her and our friendship. Then the impossibly gifted and wonderful @graciabrams came and surprised the crowd with the first performance of our song ‘us.’”

As for Kelce’s appearance, Swift wrote, “And I’m still cracking up/swooning over @killatrav’s Eras Tour debut. Never going to forget these shows.”
