Jay Brown decides he’s going to pop the question to Lola Pearce in EastEnders next week but what will her response be?
His surprise plan doesn’t get off to the best of starts when, as he practices proposing, Lola’s daughter, Lexi, bursts in on him and susses what he’s up to.
The pair then practise how Jay – who’s played by Jamie Borthwick in the BBC soap - will ask Lola to marry him, but they’re soon interrupted by the lady herself and have to cover their tracks.
Later, Lola (Danielle Harold) is moved by the romantic lunch Jay has prepared for her when she comes home from work.
But she’s not prepared for Jay getting down on one knee and asking her to be his wife.
What will she say?
EE fans predicted trouble for Jay and Lola last month when Lola’s former flame Peter Beale (newcomer Dayle Hudson) made a shock return to Walford.
Lola and Peter dated before he reunited with Lauren Branning and was still played by actor Ben Hardy.
The pair split when Peter realised he still had feelings for his high school sweetheart, Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa).
Jay was in a relationship with Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) at the time but the couple split when Abi realised Jay had fallen for her best friend, Lola.
Jay and Lola briefly got together before Lola and Lexi quit the Square back in 2015. When she returned last year it was evident that there were still sparks between the pair, despite Jay romancing Ruby Allen.
Jay’s proposal comes after Lola drops a shocking bombshell on him later this week. But what is it?
Fans think they’ve worked out the big secret, believing Lola is pregnant with Jay’s baby.
