Jay Leno Hands Out Donuts to Writers Guild Strikers at Disney Studios

Comedian Jay Leno handed out donuts to Writers Guild of America (WGA) writers on strike near the entrance of Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California, on May 2.

The gesture recalls a similar move from 2007, when Leno visited NBC’s West Coast headquarters, and, according to the Los Angeles Times, delivered “three boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts” to WGA strikers.

Shanta Parasuraman recorded this video and told Storyful they had no idea Leno was coming, adding that it was a "pleasant surprise.

“He didn’t say a word, just dropped off the treats and headed back,” Parasuraman said. “It was super fun and sweet.”

The WGA confirmed its members were on strike as of midnight on Tuesday, May 2, after failing to reach negotiation agreements “with streamers and studios.” Credit: Shanta Parasuraman via Storyful
