TikTok star and amateur climber Paul Arnott has issued an update as he carries on his search for missing Jay Slater in Tenerife.

The 29-year-old is believed to be working for missing Jay's family and has carried on his search close to Masca, where Jay, 19, was last seen on Monday, June 17. Yesterday, Monday, Mr Arnott, from Bedfordshire, said he was focusing on two new leads, including a set of GPS coordinates and the discovery of a broken pair of sunglasses that resembled a pair Jay had previously been seen wearing.

However, it has not been confirmed that the eyewear has any connection to the missing teen. Jay had been partying at Papagayo nightclub in Playa Las Americas the night before he vanished. Two older British men drove him 20 miles to their holiday rental in Masca, an 11-hour walk from where he was staying before he was seen leaving on foot the next morning.

Police have said the pair have “no relevance” to his disappearance.

Speaking on his TikTok channel, Mr Arnott said he has now secured accommodation in Tenerife for at least two more weeks. And in his latest update, he said he was anticipating a "long night" on Monday, as he scoured the island to get a new sim card to help him with his search.

Mr Arnott filmed himself entering a petrol station shop, where he told his many followers there were missing posters featuring Jay's photo and information. He added: "It's really, really good to see this ... posters up, all about Jay. This is just in a petrol station as well, let's see how many of these we can spot."

Mr Arnott then left the petrol station empty-handed as they didn't sell SIM cards. He continued: "Nowhere around here does sim cards. I've been to around five different shops and they all said to go [to that petrol station].

"I'm going to have to get a bus or a taxi into Los Cristianos and try and find one there, this is going to be a long night and I reckon it's going to be taxis. The buses shut off quite early in these sorts of areas so, yeah, it's going to be an absolute madness."
