Jay Slater's best friend reveals concerning details of 'final' call with missing teenager

Jay Slater's best friend has revealed rather concerning details of his final phone call with the British missing teenager, who has now not been seen for close to two weeks, explaining that he heard him 'slipping on rocks; as they spoke, during an interview on This Morning.

The alarm was first raised about the whereabouts of the 19-year-old on Monday, June 17 when, after he went to the NRG music festival in the resort of Playa las Americas in Tenerife, he is believed to have gone off with two men he met over the weekend, to a holiday rental up a mountain outside of Masca, around an hour's drive from where he was staying.

Jay had been in Tenerife with friends Lucy Mae Law, who told police he rang her when he was trying to get back to their resort, needed a drink of water and only had 1% battery left on his phone and Brad, the mate who was interviewed about his disappearance on Friday's episode of This Morning.

Still over in Tenerife as the search for Jay continues, Brad told reporter Isla Traquair: "We did a festival for three days, I’d do one day festival and be tired in the morning, but he’d wake up fresh to do it all again. Everything we’ve done… I can’t explain him, he’s just different.”

For the first time, Brad also shared the last conversation he had with Jay on a video call, explaining: "He was on the phone walking down a road and he’d gone over a little bit - not a big drop - but a tiny little drop and he was going down, and he said ‘I’ll ring ya back, I’ll ring ya back’ because I think someone else was ringing him."

Brad added: "If he was thinking like me, he would have gone back up and started walking on the path again… He wouldn't have gone all that way down there.”

When asked by Isla if he was 'concerned' at that point, Brad replied: "Not at the time because we were both laughing and he said, ‘Look where I am’ and I was like, ‘I’ve just come out of a festival’ and he didn’t seem concerned on the phone until we knew how far away he was. I said, ‘Put your location on and he said ‘a 15 minute drive or a 14 hour walk, I don’t know if it’s accurate or not’ and I said, ‘If it’s only a 15 minute drive, get a taxi’.”

Finally, talking about his hopes for Jay to be found, Brad answered: "That he comes home. That someone brings him home, that he’s found somewhere… I don’t know… every day my mind is going blank. I don’t know what to say anymore… I’m praying he comes home every night. I’ve still got hope for him. I still feel like he’s somewhere.”
