Jay Slater's dad slams conspiracy theory and says 'surely he would have'

Jay Slater’s furious dad has moved to slam conspiracy trolls and demanded they join the search themselves before passing comment. Jay's dad Warren Slater has called for more help to be flown out for the search in Tenerife.

Warren, and brother Zak have been searching the area near where the teen's phone last pinged for weeks. Jay, 19, was last seen on June 17 walking uphill in the remote village of Tenerife and is believed to be in a Masca ravine.

He said: "We are not going to stop. We are still out looking. What more can we possibly do? I’ve said before, I need an army to help me." Jay's family may now have to pay a fee to scour the ravine where the teen vanished in Tenerife.

“People don’t understand the vastness of it," dad Warren said. “I’d love to be able to fly a drone and sit here all day scouring the whole area. Why would you go down there? Why leave the road> When we came on Monday we must have passed 200 cars going up those hills."

Warren hit out at trolls, and said: "Stop, and put your boots on if you want to come out and help. Then write it up.” A police source on the island said the case is "very much open" with "all scenarios being kept in mind". Cops also confirmed Jay has not been deemed "missing feared dead" yet.

Warren said: "I hope it's true". But he also warned Jay "surely would've made contact by now". Apprentice bricklayer Jay, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancs, disappeared on the Spanish island on June 17. He was last seen leaving an Airbnb in the north of the island, close to the village of Masca.

The teenager, who was on holiday with his pals Lucy Law, 18, and Brad Hargreaves, 19, had previously been partying at the Papagayo nightclub in Playa de las Americas. He left the event with two British men to go back to the rented property - local police concluded the men were ‘irrelevant’ to the investigation and allowed them to return to the UK.
