Presenter Jeff Brazier has detailed why he charges his 17-year-old son Bobby, a model, rent.

The teenager is the eldest of the two sons Jeff had with ex-partner Jade Goody, who died in 2009. Since her death he has been a single dad to Bobby and his younger brother Freddie, 16.

He opened up about his parenting on Nick Berry's Dadpod podcast, stating that he wanted to encourage a "work ethic" in his boys.

“If the work ethic isn't there, then I would put some things in place in order to encourage that, such as charging Bobby rent.

"That's something I decided to do because I believe in that as a motivational tool for him to go and, you know, work four or five hours doing a pot wash in the local caff or the restaurant or whatever," Jeff, 41, said.

Although Bobby has been making a career for himself in the modelling world, earlier this year he said he was short on the monthly rent.

In a light-hearted now-deleted TikTok video he told fans his privileges, including driving lessons and lifts to the train station, would stop if he failed to pay.

His modelling credits have included shoots for TINGS Magazine, Man About Town and walking for Dolce and Gabbana at Milan Fashion Week earlier this year.

He lives with his father and brother as well as step-mum Kate Dwyer, whom Jeff married in 2018.

On the podcast Jeff also spoke about his youngest son, explaining he had a "terrible time" at school due to struggles with his attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Sharing that he was "really settled" now, Jeff said: "I remember a teacher saying to me ‘Isn't it about time you put your son on medication?’” … he felt like he was the naughty kid and, as a result, he played to that.

"So, over the years we've been trying to unravel all of that, unpick it so that he can just be settled in an environment where he can be himself.”
