Jeff Stelling's one-word message to Hull City after Liam Rosenior sacked
Former Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling has slammed Hull City after they chose to sack head coach Liam Rosenior.
Hull Live understands that Rosenior met with owner Acun Ilicali after the 1-0 defeat to Plymouth Argyle on the final day of the season. This result meant the Tigers missed out on the Championship playoffs by three points with Norwich City sealing sixth place instead.
After the original meeting that Saturday, Ilicali informed Rosenior of his decision on Tuesday and the search is now on to find his replacement. It is believed City want to conclude this search quickly to allow the new manager the time needed to assemble his squad and backroom staff for next season.

Like many Hull supporters, Stelling was left bewildered by the news that Rosenior was no longer in charge at the MKM Stadium. Responding to a report announcing the 39-year-old's exit, the current talkSPORT host simply replied: "Ridiculous."
Rosenior took charge in November 2022 with City struggling at the bottom end of the Championship following a poor start to the season under Shota Arveladze, stabilised by Andy Dawson’s interim spell. In his first permanent senior job as manager after leaving Derby County, the former Tigers defender guided City to safety and a 15th-placed finish last term and helped introduce his possession-based style of play throughout the club.
Just last month, Rosenior was nominated for Championship Manager of the Year thanks to his remarkable turnaround at Hull. He would eventually miss out on this award to Kieran McKenna who guided Ipswich Town back to the Premier League.
