Jenna Bush Hager Encourages Hoda Kotb to ‘Free Your Boobs’ amid “Today ”Wardrobe Mishap: ‘Everything’s Hanging Out’

"You want me to take your bra off for you?" Bush Hager asked her co-anchor on the Fourth of July episode of 'Today with Hoda & Jenna'

Hoda Kotb's Fourth of July got off to an interesting start!

During Thursday's episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, Kotb, 59, had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction as she told her co-anchor Jenna Bush Hager, 42, that the red dress she was wearing for the holiday wasn't "working" for her.

"The bra’s not working. The outfit doesn’t work. The bra’s too big, the straps are too small. I can’t do it. You know when you wear a dress that you shouldn’t wear it," Kotb said.

"You know when you’re like, ‘Everything’s hanging out. It’s not right.’ But you know what, I just decided I’m going to do it," she went on. "Have you ever gone to a party and gone, ‘It’s fine.’ And then you spend the whole party pulling and shoving and stuffing? It’s not good."

Bush Hager added, "Or you have too much cleavage and you don’t love it to begin with," as Kotb insisted, "I don’t want it. I don’t want it, it’s too much."

Admitting she felt like she was "falling out," talk then turned to whether the broadcast journalist should just take her bra off completely.

"Will you ever just free your boobs?" Bush Hager asked as Kotb responded, "No! No! No!"

Not stopping there, Bush Hager urged, "Free your boobs, Hoda. It’s time," but Kotb was having none of it.

Bush Hager said, "At this point in your life when you’re turning almost 60, free your boobs. Let’s free them." She even asked, "You want me to take your bra off for you?"

Unsurprisingly, Kotb quipped, "No I don’t!" despite Bush Hager saying she could "do it real quick and slide it through."

"The answer’s no," Kotb told her co-anchor.

This certainly isn't the first time such a topic has come up on Today with Hoda & Jenna, as mom of three Bush Hager spoke about her son Hal, 4, watching her getting ready in the morning earlier this week.

On the July 1 episode, the news personality shared, "Recently while I’m getting dressed — if I do makeup, hair, outfit — which is what I like, Hal likes to come in there and say, ‘Look at your nickels. I like your nickels.' "

"Now he’s talking about something else… it’s nipples. But he said, ‘Look at your big nickels.’ And then I feel a little humiliated in my own home," she said.

The week before, on June 24, Kotb chatted with guest host Sheinelle Jones about going skinny dipping with her daughters Hope, 4, and Haley, 7.

"We skinny-dipped! It was so fun! My kids were screaming. They were literally shrieking with delight," Kotb recalled.
