Jennifer Aniston: I’m a terrible auditioner
Jennifer Aniston thinks she’s a “terrible auditioner”.
The 55-year-old actress has starred in a number of well-known movies and TV shows, such as ‘Friends’ and ‘We’re the Millers’, over the years - but Jennifer feels she doesn’t audition well because she struggles to find immediate chemistry with a stranger.
Appearing on The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Drama Actress Roundtable’ - which also featured Nicole Kidman, Jodie Foster, Sofia Vegara, Brie Larson, Naomi Watts and Anna Sawai - Jennifer said: “When you're in an audition room, you're already at a disadvantage. Maybe you'd have chemistry with this person if you were in a different environment, and not, like, ‘Create chemistry. Ready? Go!’
“And I'm a terrible auditioner, always was. I waitressed forever before I could finally get something, which was a Bob's Big Boy commercial.”
The actresses discussed Anne Hathaway's recent confession that she was once asked to kiss ten men as part of a chemistry test for a film role.
Nicole joked: “To be excited to make out with someone? I think maybe secretly I've been excited.”
However, Jennifer strongly disagreed, insisting she would “never” take part in an audition like that.
The Hollywood star said: “I haven't been told you're going to have to lay down and [get intimate with an actor for a chemistry test], and if asked, I would never.”
Jennifer explained that the situation would have been “very uncomfortable” for “nervous auditioners”.
The actress - who is, perhaps, best known for playing Rachel Green in 'Friends' - said: “So, if you’re a nervous auditioner to begin with, to then say, ‘Now let's have you make out with a complete stranger,’ it's very uncomfortable."
