Jennifer Lopez Battles AI in ‘Atlas’ Teaser Trailer
Jennifer Lopez is voyaging into uncharted territory with new Netflix film “Atlas.” Lopez leads the sci-fi thriller about a data analyst, Atlas Shepherd (Lopez), who deeply distrusts artificial intelligence. But when a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past goes awry, she realizes the only hope of saving the future of humanity from AI is to trust it.
“Atlas” co-stars “American Fiction” Oscar-nominated actor Sterling K. Brown and “Barbie” star Simu Liu; Gregory James Cohan, Abraham Popoola, Lana Parrilla, and Mark Strong round out the cast.

Brad Peyton directs the feature from a script by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite. Lopez produces along with partners Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina for Nuyorican Productions. Director Peyton and Jeff Fierson produce for ASAP Entertainment. Additional producers include Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter for Berlanti/Schechter Films and Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell for Safehouse Pictures. Samson Mücke and Michael Riley McGrath executive produce.
Lopez recently led (and cowrote) her self-funded project “This Is Me…Now: A Love Story” for Amazon’s Prime Video. The feature served as a visual component to Lopez’s latest album “This Is Me…Now” and followed her through a series of very public heartbreaks, culminating in her marriage to Ben Affleck. Oscar winner Affleck also has a jaw-dropping cameo in the film.
“Atlas” is not Lopez’s first partnership with Netflix. The actress action film “The Mother,” the streamer’s eighth-biggest movie of all time, in 2023.
Lopez is next set to star in sports drama “Unstoppable” about the true story of Anthony Robles, a three-time All-American athlete born with one leg who won a wrestling national championship at Arizona State University. Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company Artists Equity will produce the feature as their followup project to “Air,” which Affleck has credited Lopez for helping write.
“Jen [Lopez] gave me some great lines,” Affleck told The Hollywood Reporter of Lopez’s impact on “Air.” “Oh my God, she’s brilliant. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the way fashion evolves through the culture as a confluence of music, sports, entertainment, and dance.”
