Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings wasn't always at the head of the class.

Appearing on Live with Kelly & Mark on Monday, Jennings opened up about his academic grades.

“I was a pretty good student,” the quiz show host, 49, told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. “My worst grade ever — I don’t think I ever failed a test — but my worst grade on my résumé is a C+ in seventh grade Home Ec. My worst subject.”

“You know what, I wish I would have taken Home Ec," Ripa, 53, confessed. "It was optional.”

When her husband revealed he'd taken the course, she asked, “And?”

“I got an A,” said Consuelos, 52.

“You gotta tell me your secrets,” Jennings prompted, to which Consuelos said, “I just showed up,”

Ripa asked Jennings, “What did you find so difficult about it?”

“My creme puffs were amazing," he recalled. "Then we got into the sewing units, and my apron was terrible. I put one of the straps on backwards, and when I realized, I was like, ‘You know what, I don’t actually care. I’m not going to redo this.’”

He concluded, “I got the C+ I deserved.”

Meanwhile, Jennings’ revelation about his school days comes after he revealed last December that he was surprised by his former colleague Mayim Bialik's departure from Jeopardy! after she revealed on Dec. 15 that she was let go from the show.

"It took me off guard because I loved working with my Mayim and I’m going to miss her,” Jennings told The Hollywood Reporter:

"I can't speak to her decision-making process or her opinions about it. But on my end, I'm just a fan of Jeopardy! and I'm always delighted to host when they call upon me," he continued. "I just feel extremely lucky to have even been considered for this job as a non-broadcaster."

Jennings and Bialik, 48, were announced as co-hosts of Jeopardy! in July 2022 after a long search for late host Alex Trebek's replacement following his death in 2020.
