Jeremy Paxman was mistaken for a guest on the Jeremy Kyle show

Former Newsnight rottweiler Jeremy Paxman isn’t the kind of guy you’d fancy getting on the wrong side of.

So you have to feel just a little bit sorry for the rookie TV researcher who approached the 66-year-old journalist in the studio corridors – and told him he was in danger of missing his appointment with the Jeremy Kyle show.

The researcher was sent roaming the TV studio corridors in search of a missing guest – and bumped into Paxo looking decidedly unhurried.

“She said to him that if he was involved in the Kyle show then he needed to get into make-up pretty damn quick because the audience was already arriving,” laughed a source at MediaCity studios in Salford.

“Jeremy saw the hilarious side straight away and told her that his life was not in such turmoil that he needs to go on the Jeremy Kyle show just yet.”

Now that we’d pay good money to see.

“It was so funny when the researcher in the corridor was told by a colleague that Paxman could have accidentally been roped into the Kyle show,” the insider continued.

“Jeremy just took it in great spirits, stressing that he had no personal reasons yet to nip into the next door studio and spill his heart out in front of a baying public.”

Back in 2007, the Jeremy Kyle Show was blasted as a “human form of bear baiting” by a judge after a guest was fined £300 for headbutting another man on the show.

Guess we’ll never know whether the other Jeremy could have brought a more calming influence to the show.
