Jesse Lee Soffer Boards ‘FBI: International’ Following Luke Kleintank’s Exit

Surprise! Jesse Lee Soffer has joined CBS’s FBI: International in a series regular role for Season 4.

Before you get too excited, something needs to be stated. While both shows hail from Wolf Entertainment, Soffer will not reprise his longtime character Detective Jay Halstead. Filling the vacancy left behind by Luke Kleintank who exited last season, Soffer will play an all-new character that has yet to be revealed.

This will work similarly to how Colin Donnell, formerly of NBC’s Chicago Med, stepped into FBI: International for a couple of episodes at the end of last season as Brian Lange and not Dr. Connor Rhodes.

FBI: International is the third iteration of the FBI franchise and follows the elite operatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s International Fly Team. Headquartered in Budapest, they travel throughout Europe with the mission of tracking and neutralizing threats against American citizens wherever they may be, putting their lives on the line to protect the U.S. and its people.

The cast also stars Carter Redwood, Vinessa Vidotto, Christina Wolfe and Eva-Jane Willis. Teri Polo also joined the series in Season 3 making her debut in the finale.

Season 3 concluded at the end of May with a fourth season ordered back in April. Dick Wolf, Matt Olmstead, Michael Katleman, Ernesto Alcalde and Peter Jankowski executive produce. The series is produced by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with CBS Studios.

Soffer starred in Chicago P.D. for 9+ seasons before announcing in April 2022 that he would be leaving the show. He made his final appearance months later in October but he’s returned to direct two episodes. Soffer is repped by Ethos Entertainment, UTA and Schreck Rose Dapello.
