Holiday giant Jet2.com has announced new destinations from Birmingham Airport after strong demand from customers and travel agents. The package holiday provider's new routes will run to sun-soaked destinations, which Jet2 bosses say they hope will be "extremely popular."

One destination is a completely new route and airport and the other is a new destination through an existing route. All the new destinations are part of Jet2's summer 2025 programme, so holidaymakers will have to wait to catch their flights.

However high demand is expected as tickets went on sale today, June 26. Airport bosses said Jet2's new offering will be "music to the ears" of West Midlands travellers.

The first new route is to Jerez in Spain, which will open up the Costa de la Luz region for holidaymakers. The holiday operator has also launched new holiday deals to Costa de la Luz via Faro Airport for its Birmingham Airport summer 2025 schedule.

Travel chiefs said the moves would open up a range of popular resorts on the Andalusian coast including Cadiz, Novo Sancti Petri, Conil de la Frontera, Costa Ballena, El Puerto de Santa Maria and Zahara de los Atunes.

Jerez is an exclusive route to Jet2 from Birmingham Airport, with weekly Friday services operating from May 2 to October 31, 2025.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be giving customers and independent travel agents the chance to discover an authentic slice of Spain thanks to the launch of Costa de la Luz as a brand-new destination for Summer 25 from Birmingham Airport.

"As a result of this launch, customers can reach this stunning region and Spain’s best beaches from Jerez Airport, which becomes our newest Spanish Airport, as well as from Faro Airport too. We are incredibly excited about this new destination, and we are confident that it will prove extremely popular with our customers.

“This latest expansion comes on the back of strong demand from customers and independent travel agents looking to book with us time and time again on our award-winning flights and holidays out of Birmingham Airport. Thanks to the launch of this brand-new destination, we look forward to welcoming even more holidaymakers onboard and showcasing all the reasons why we continue to delight customers.”

Tom Screen, aviation director at Birmingham Airport, said: “This brand-new and exclusive direct route to Jerez from Birmingham Airport will be music to the ears of those wishing to experience the beauty of southern Spain's Andalusia region. Jerez, known for its amazing wine, horses, and flamenco, will now be ever more accessible for those in the West Midlands region and beyond.

“We are also thrilled to see the launch of holidays to Costa de la Luz from Birmingham, and we’re sure that our customers will be too, as they look forward to their next escape to the beach in summer 2025.”
