Jet2 has issued a "12 hours" alert to all passengers ahead of what is set to be a very busy summer for travel.

The operator is the UK's third largest airline, with millions of people flying with Jet2 each year. The airline provides regular updates for anyone with a booking, and on Tuesday evening it issued a new alert to all passengers.

A Jet2 alert reads: "Please check this section of the website at least 12 hours before your flight for the latest flight information.

"As a reminder check in desks will close 40 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Rest assured, in the event of flight disruption our dedicated Operations teams are always working hard behind the scenes at our UK-based HQ to get you on your way as soon as possible."
