Jill Scott forced an apology from the Soccer Aid commentary team on Sunday night, after her foul mouthed reaction to missing a chance for England in the charity match.

Having played for England Lionesses for years and won the Euros in 2022, Jill has since retired from football and has gone onto win I'[m A Celebrity and become a popular pundit. But, this weekend, it was time for Sunderland star Jill to get her boots back on for Soccer Aid, as she was named in the England XI for the Stamford Bridge clash.

The first half was hugely entertaining, with ex Chelsea star Joe Cole putting England ahead with just six minutes on the clock, before another ex Blue, Eden Hazard then levelled things up with as free kick, that keeper David James really should have kept out. Things got even better for the World team when ex Juventus man Alessandro Del Piero put them 2-1 up, only for Ellen White to then make it 2-2, as the Lionesses all time top scorer became the first ever female player to find the net at Soccer Aid.

Jill very nearly became the second shortly after, as she found herself with space in the box, only to then squander her opportunity to make it 3-2 to England. As she got closer to opposition keeper Petr Cech, Jill then hit a cross/shot, as the ball went wide of the post.

And her face and the words that came out of her mouth said it all, as she shouted: "F**k!" as ITV camera stayed on her. It took a few moments for ITV commentators Sam Matterface and Iain Stirling to realise what had happened, with them then issuing an apology on air.

Speaking to Iain and to viewers at home, Sam remarked: "I don't know if you noticed it, I definitely didn't, but there may have been, just may have been some industrial language that emanated from Jill Scott's mouth when she missed the chance."

He then added: "If that was the case, we do apologise," with Iain replying: "We'll apologise on Jill Scott's behalf."

Jill has got form for swearing on camera during a match, with her famously seen mouthing "f**k off pr**k." to a German player during the Euros final two years ago.
