Joe Biden’s Campaign Sets Date For Fundraiser With Barack Obama, Bill Clinton

Joe Biden’s reelection campaign is gathering his two Democratic predecessors, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, for a fundraiser in New York on March 28.

Obama posted an invite to supporters to win a trip to the event, including flights and airfare, and a photo with the presidents. The suggested contribution starts at $25.

NBC News, which was the first to report on the first-of-its-kind event, also reported that it may take place at Radio City Music Hall. Biden also is expected to return to Los Angeles by late March for another round of fundraising.

The use of contests to drive up campaign contributions has become a regular part of fundraising, with supporters entering for a chance to win chances to have a meal with the candidate or attend star-studded events.

Biden’s main campaign committee reported having $46 million cash on hand as of December 31, with $97 million raised in the fourth quarter. The latter figure includes money from the campaign and a joint fundraising committee.
