Joe Burrow Says He Got a Haircut Because of His Disappointing Start to the NFL Season
Burrow said his haircut inspiration came after “you have a game like that”
After losing 24-3 to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow said the meltdown motivated him to get a haircut.
“When you have a game like that,” he told reporters on Wednesday, about how he knew it was time to call an audible — at least regarding his hair.
Now sporting a shorter style that features a fade near his ears, the 26-year-old star has less of a need for his usual Bengals headband, which he wore to pull back his longer hair during training camp and the preseason.
The new look comes on the heels of one of the worst performances in his career.

On Sunday, Burrow completed only 14 of his 31 pass attempts for 82 yards and no touchdowns, and his passing yards and passer rating were career lows, according to The Sporting News.
The Bengals’ brutal loss to their intrastate rival coincided with what should have been a celebratory week for the athlete, who signed an NFL-record contract last Thursday — a five year, $275-million deal in which he will earn $55 million per season.

But for Burrow, he’s trying to keep his change of ‘do — and the loss — in perspective.
“Long season, everybody’s got bad games,” he said on Wednesday. “That’s gonna happen, and what makes you who you are and what hopefully makes you the player that you are is how you respond to games like that and how consistent you can be afterwards.”

When asked by a reporter to further to describe his new look, so that parents could get their kids a “Joe Burrow haircut,” the former LSU standout laughed along with reporters.
“You’re looking at it,” he said. “I don’t know what to tell people, I just make it happen.”
