Joe Hart sparks Celtic 'one more year' whispers as lesser spotted Aberdeen moment has fans begging him for more

Joe Hart was living up the 'carnage' in the wake of Celtic's thrilling penalty shootout win over Aberdeen.

And one wink-and-you'll miss it moment during the spot-kicks has fans begging him to shelve his retirement plans and hang around for another season. Hart was briefly the villain of the Scottish Cup show when he surprisingly stepped up to take the fifth spot-kick, which would have won the shootout for the champions, but hit the post. But just moments later he saved from Killian Phillips to seal their progress and it was a few minutes that perfectly encapsulated the chaos of one of the best cup clashes in recent memory.

He says he'd take another one in a Hart-beat and may well get the chance with a final against either Hearts or Rangers coming up on May 26. That's poised to be his last game in professional football after he announced his plans to retire earlier this season.

So when he posted to Instagram saying he loved the 'pure carnage', fans were quick to flood in. The comments section was awash with messages like "Go on just 1 more year," and "finish the story!" urging him to put pen to paper and shelve his plans to hang up the gloves for another season. One wrote: "We love ya, Joe. Fills me full of pride when I see players like yourself, who’ve done so much in the game, pull on the jersey. Don’t leave us," and another said: "What a man! Please sign an extension!"

Hart's antics directly after his miss also got some attention. After hitting the post, cameras briefly caught Hart winking and smiling in the direction of Aberdeen keeper Kelle Roos. It was wink and you'll miss it but one eagle-eyed punter wrote: "That wink..." and another said: "That smile and wink. You're a madman, Joe."
