Joe McElderry shows off dramatic new hairstyle

Everyone loves to give themselves a bit of a re-brand for summer. Usually people bang on about having a beach body, but honestly who wants to be all sweaty and working hard inside a stuffy gym?

A much easier and fun way of having a new summer look is to change your hair colour. You get the attention of everyone going 'oh you look so different' without all the hard work, and you don't feel guilty about the empty calories when you're drinking wine on the balcony all night. An all-around win in our eyes.

Anyway, Joe McElderry is clearly a fan of changing up your hairdo when the heat wave hits, as he has debuted his new platinum blonde locks on Instagram:

As he proved back in January, he's also in pretty good shape so really, he's got the best of both worlds.

A few months back, Joe was forced to cancel a gig in Country Durham after the venue received a "suspicious letter".

He told his fans that as soon as he and his team learned of the situation, they immediately cancelled the show so as not to put anyone in danger.

Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: "I don't like letting people down. It's not just the tickets people have paid for, but the travel, hotels – I think for most artists, when something like this happens, the first thing you think of is the fans and how much money and planning they have done around each concert."
