Yahoo News Joe Sugg on life outside YouTube: 'I want to be an adult'
Strictly's Joe Sugg says the YouTube chapter of his life is now 'coming to a close' as he admits he wants to 'be an adult' and move into new ventures.
The YouTube star and boyfriend of Strictly dancer Dianne Buswell spoke to Kate Thornton on White Wine Question Time, saying it was 'quite recently' that he felt like an adult, having move to the countryside and starting to feel 'very settled.
While he said he still uses social media 'an awful lot' and still considers it his main job, he can see an end in sight.
Sugg said: "That chapter of the hysteria of that time on YouTube, where we were the group that went on to do all these amazing things, now I've turned 30, that chapter's coming to a close, and it's time for a new chapter."

The pair had previously been discussing the stars of the Mickey Mouse Club in the 90s, which included Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling and Christina Aguilera who all went on to have huge careers in their own right.
Sugg said he didn't want to be 'boxed' in to the career that made him famous.
"I want to move on and be an adult, being able to do what I want to do, and just find new avenues and new things to work on," he explained.
He's set up a management company for social media stars with fellow YouTuber and former roommate Caspar Lee.
But he also admitted there were times when he had thought 'naively' that the YouTube days would last forever.
"It's gonna be great," he said of his thinking 'in the moment'. "We're gonna always make content, and we're going to age it up over time, and everyone's going to grow up and still be addicted to my content when they when they pass the age of sort of 20 or whatever. But it's not the case."
But he had a lot of positive things to say about his 10-year YouTube career to date, saying he had experienced 'amazing, incredible' so far and was enjoyed putting other people through it too.
He said: "I just love the fact of, once you've been through something and you've experienced something so great, you then get satisfaction and enjoyment of seeing someone else go through it."
The 31-year-old, who got the final of Strictly Come Dancing with his now girlfriend who he met on the show, said he approaches work in a new way now too.

While early on, he saw the data and the numbers side of YouTube as a 'distraction' seeing himself as 'purely creative' the former roof thatcher said he thought it slowed him down.
Sugg added: "Now as I'm getting older, and with the production company and doing more business ventures, it's something that is actually a very vital tool in making new stuff.
"So it's something now that over time and in this new chapter of my life is now much more important to me."
