John Cleese has brought back a famous Monty Python character for GB News to advertise his upcoming show The Dinosaur Hour.

In the ad released by GB News, Cleese takes part in a sketch with the French Taunter who was seen in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The skit saw Cleese approach a castle (which is where The Dinosaur Hour is filmed) only to be insulted by a French knight who says the Fawlty Towers star is a “quarter-witted son of a cabbage hunter” and should “go and boil your bottom”.

London based American comedian Lewis Schaffer, who appears regularly on GB News, then appeared and follows Cleese's instruction to throw the French Taunter off the castle.

The Dinosaur Hour premieres on GB News on Sunday 29 October at 9pm and will see Cleese interviewing a number of stars in the unusual castle setting.

His celebrity guests will include Stephen Fry, Trevor McDonald and Caitlin Jenner.

The show will run for ten episodes and is produced by GB News presenter Andrew Doyle who recently featured Cleese on his talk show.

While on the Doyle's Free Speech Nation, Cleese described The Dinosaur Hour as "a show for the out of touch". He added: "All the dinosaurs who are out of touch."

Cleese has previously opened up about why he decided to join GB News which has often been considered controversial for airing views on conspiracy theories.

Cleese said: "I was approached and I didn't know who they were. I don't know much about modern television because I'd pretty my given up on it. I mean English television.

"People say it's a right wing channel - it's a free speech channel. The whole point is, is it free speech or not? And after I start the show, we'll find out."

Other current presenters on GB News include current and former right wing politicians such as Nigel Farage and Jacob Rees-Mogg.
