John Koutrombis is Motherwell transfer option as Steelmen weigh up move for Perth Glory star

Motherwell are considering a move for Perth Glory’s John Koutrombis.

The right-back is out of contract with the A-League outfit next month. A number of Australian sources expect the 26-year-old to move to Scotland, with Fir Park his most likely next destination. The former Australian under-23 international has been with Glory for the last two seasons. Prior to that he has had spells in the A-League with Newcastle Jets and Western Sydney Wanderers.

Koutrombis came through the ranks of West Adelaide before he moved to Adelaide United. Motherwell have a number of right-backs but they are all out of contract in the summer or are set to return to their parent clubs. Scotland cap Stephen O’Donnell and Callan Elliot’s deals are set to expire this summer. Paul McGinn has been playing in one as a central defender and Adam Devine will return to Rangers at the end of his loan.
